Graduation post for awesome people
So, I have raised the fun question of “Who should I embarrass and on what form of social media??” since there are 3 lovely individuals I know that graduate from our university today. Only two have a Tumblr (that I know of), so the third will have to settle for a text. :P
Anyway...
@invdrdana: Um. Where do I begin? *pulls out scroll that unravels all the way across the room* I happen to recall a conversation we had a few months ago about almost not meeting one another for the first time when you almost decided not to go to a school event that I went to. Now I’m thinking of that all over again, and about these past 4.5 years and where they went. I suppose I’ll endure my last semester without you, since the universe got misaligned and made us graduate at different times, but you’re so beyond stuck with me now and you not being at school is the only thing that will change. I can already feel myself getting sappier and more sentimental with every word, so I’ll just say this and cut the speech short: thank you for all the laughter and good times, for making my college experience more whole, and for being one of my best friends on this journey. <3
@nopeimnottellingyou: Okay, as someone who hasn’t had to stand in front of a room full of people and listen to me talk about how wonderful you are while crying (yes...the person above has had to endure that), I’m not sure where this kind of thing will fall on the awkwardness meter for you. Nevertheless, I just want you to know that you are special to me, and that I truly think you are one-of-a-kind in all the best ways. Even though I wish we had met sooner than this past spring, we still did and can always look back fondly on our Intercultural Com class with quite possibly the greatest cowboy-dressing-professor in the world (if not the only)!
Congratulations, you made it! :D Now go eat some cake or something. :P
