Friday, a small group of us decided to venture to take a tour of the Embera Indian village in the Darien province of Panama. 

The Embera people inhabit the area along the Chucunaque/Tuira/Balsas River watersheds. With about twenty houses, they are built along the river with thatched roofs and clay floors. The natives were incredibly friendly (despite the language barrier) and took us to a beautiful waterfall by canoe, then to their village where they provided lunch, dance, and showed us their marketplace. Above are pictures they allowed us to take, along with the delicious lunch and flower crowns the children made us!
