Sewing is one of those things I want to love but hate trying to love it. I commend you for your continued effort and sharing it with us on tumblr. :3 What kind of sewing machine do you use? And do you sew clothes just for dolls or have you done other projects as well?

It can definitely be frustrating, haha!
I started out sewing on my grandma’s machine, an Elna Supermatic. It’s old, but it’s got some pretty fancy stuff... that doesn’t quite work 100%. Needs some maintenance. If I’m sewing straight stitches (and not attempting to use the cams), it goes like a pro.
Mom lent me her fancy machine, a Singer Futura SES2000. It’s supposed to be able to do embroidery, but.. uh.. It’s not fancy enough to have built in embroidery software, so it needs to be hooked up to a PC while sewing. Ew.
It does feel nice and “crisp”? when it sews, though, and I love that.
And then my aunts surprised me with a machine for Christmas! A Singer Simple 2263. To be honest, I’m not a huge fan of this machine yet. After having access to the other two machines, this one feels kinda lacking. (and the instruction book is horrible! took some experimenting to figure out basic functions)
Now that I’m thinking about it, it feels weird that I have access to three sewing machines. Ahhh... oAo
I’m trying to branch out. I prefer sewing for dolls more, since they come in set sizes haha. Plus I have a ton more patterns to choose from. I’m not very confident in my sewing ability, so having patterns is very very comforting. Follow the instructions and you’ll end up with something decent. :D
Lately I’ve been working on little pouches. They’re fun, but I dread sewing the outer pouch and the liner together. The pouch is too small to slip over the free arm and I’m not sure how to do it neatly. It turns out ok in the end though. :D;;
Before that, it was water bottle covers for those tall reusable bottles. I got some that worked, and then my aunts wanted me to start making them for different sized bottles... Then every single cover started to come out differently. (Discovered the other day that when i was switching machines... the presser foot width on each machine is different, and that’s what i was using as a guide... ahahahaha...-_-)
Oh boy, I’m rambling and there’s a text wall. Sorry about that. Lemme know if there’s anything else you wanna know about.
