H a v e a c u p o f t e a ☕️ So this is a little more bright and colourful for me isn’t it?! I’m still working on my photography and editing and wanted to join in with #autumnhashtagchallenge as well as incorporating the #illumicratesep2020 prompt featuring the gorgeous @rosiethorns88 mug (swipe to see the art!) from the Sinister Surroundings box. I’ve also been thinking whilst I will always talk books and feature them on my feed I’m going to start putting me in more photos. My hands/clothes/shoes maybe I don’t know but as much as I want to share my love of books I want you to get to know me more too. That’s how we make friends, right?! Anyway, this morning we went on a woodland walk with the kids and my mum which was really nice. Tonight I’m looking forward to watching Strictly Come Dancing because I am that person and I can not wait to see Nicola & Katyas first dance on the show. I talked yesterday in my stories about how finding bookstagram this year has really helped me feel less alone and more seen, especially talking books with other parents who are my age - I very much felt too old to love the books I do so now I know I’m not the only one I feel so much better and happier. Have you read anything by Christina Henry? If you haven’t, what have you been up to today? I love this authors retellings of Alice and Peter Pan so I was super excited to have a chance to read an Arc of The Ghost Tree on net galley which I haven’t finished yet! I am enjoying it though, it’s a good amount of spooky set in the 80s. Rep Post - @emberstagcandles is having a restock tomorrow and there is HALLOWEEN TEA which looks amazing and is themed by Hocus Pocus. The candle pictured is another perfect Autumn scent and is fiery cinnamon. I absolutely love it. The tarot card today is High Priestess which is one of my favourite cards. It’s about reflection and being in the moment. A card for mindfulness if you like. I know when it comes up in a reading for myself that I need to trust my instincts when it comes to an idea or situation. Hello October 1st 🎃 It’s Spooky Season! What are your reading plans for this month? Any witchy or spooky reads? Does the season change your mood reading? I am super excited to read Shadow of Night with @mummyisreading @megan_readingawaythedays @oddsocks.blog @nverjudgeabook & @asrarlydiasbooks - a wonderful group of people who I read A Discovery of Witches with last month and I’m so happy the group is continuing. I’ve also pictured my tarot deck in the corner and will be sharing a few of these cards this month because the artwork is phenomenal & perfectly dark and spooky. 👻 Other reading plans include Star Daughter, Fable, Stalking Jack the Ripper, The Invisible Life of Addie Larue, The Ghost Tree, Horrid & The Year of the Witching. Oh, and a reread of A Court of Mist & Fury because WHY NOT. Non bookish things to look forward to include my smallest baby turning two on Sunday. We are hoping to go out for the day and I feel it will be our last time out for a while. We are seeing my mum and sister tomorrow as we missed out last week as there would have been more than 6 of us and this way we aren’t breaking any rules. The rising in cases have really got my anxiety jumping up again but we are doing all we can to stay safe and trying to protect our wellbeing too.
