Sometimes I feel a bit weirdly voyeuristic about reading through the Jewish discourse on your blog. Having access to it makes my Religious Studies Scholar heart go pitter-patter, but I also feel a bit like I'm eavesdropping on a conversation that I've no business in...
Hi! This is an interesting ask — and, I'll be honest, I'm not totally sure how to answer it.
It is certainly all too possible to view intracommunity discourse from an outside POV in ways that could be "voyeuristic," scholarly or no. But that's not to say that you are necessarily viewing it in that way, and, well... the truth is, I have no way of knowing. :-)
It's important to be self-aware, and if you think there might be an issue then it may be worth taking a step back to think about just why and how you are reading these posts.
At the same time, learning about others isn't bad. And it is also the case that, while you might not be the intended audience, if I was not okay with the chance of anyone "eavesdropping" on the conversation, then I would not be fool enough to have the conversation on a public Tumblr blog!
So if your only reason for concern is the knowledge that the posts weren't written for you, I'd say don't worry about it. But if you have other reason for concern or feel weird about the way you're thinking about the posts, pay attention to that.
