This Time It's the Horn that Causes the Man to Grow 25-31 May

Suddenly the General began to grow. He was getting taller and broader and more muscular. In seconds, he was twice as tall! He continued to grow larger and larger. "Wu!" I called. "Stop him!"

"I...I...I can't!" Lu yelled back. "He's too powerful!"

"Yes," the General replied, his voice booming. "I am too powerful for you! Too powerful for all of you!"

The Sharkwoman snarled as she ran toward him, her mouth open, her teeth ready to bite, but the General swatted her away as if she were a fly.

"Shayu!" Lu Wu screamed. Lightning flew from his finger tips and shot out at the still growing General. He grimaced in pain. The General reached out and grabbed him in his giant hand. The lightning continued to shoot out, but the General began to squeeze.

"Boost, Frank?" Tilly prompted. I nodded and she ran toward me stepping into my interlocked hands. As I threw her upwards, she phased. Tilly went flying upwards, but she started slowing down and I didn't think she would make it. She reached out with her right hand. She was so close, but I couldn't tell if she made it as she started to fall.

She must've failed because she fell alone. And the General squeezed so hard that it looked like he had squished Lu flat. The General must've killed him because he didn't make a sound. And then Wu disappeared into the General's, so large had it grown...no, wait! It wasn't the fist that had grown. It was Wu!

He was slipping! Wu was sliding right through the General's enormous fist! And he was falling free! Tilly had done it! She had freed him! But then I realized he wasn't slowing down. He wasn't stopping himself. Wu could fly, but all he was doing was falling! He was unconscious! "Tilly!" I yelled. "You have to save him!"

Tilly looked at me. She was still in her phased state, so she hadn't yet touched the ground. Had she unphased, she would have fallen too fast. "OK, Frank," she sighed. "I got this."

The General opened his arms wide and said, "No."

Tilly hit the ground, but instead of stopping as I expected her to, she continued to fall right through the ground. She looked at me with panic in her eyes. "Frank?"

I ran toward her and reached out for her hand, but my hand went through her. There was nothing I could do as she disappeared into the earth. "Tilly!" But I had no time to grieve, I had to rush to catch Lu Wu.
