kaiba's fashion sense (trench coat, buckles) is the only thing about him that could be described as "goth," and it's more accurately theater kid, which is an adjacent but distinct category. he lacks a morbid fascination with death and he does not romanticize it, which is critical to gothiness. his attitude towards other people is preppy (snide arrogant bitch) and his key interests are nerdy (dragons, trading card games). his approach to life, however - bullish, adrenaline-seeking, extremely competitive, with shows of force across multiple vectors - is classic jock, so is fact that he packed on twenty pounds of muscle just to go to space and impress his crush. don't be fooled by the sweater vest chess prodigy shit. he WILL shove you into a locker.
