Oh, he’s thought about this before, that Merlin’s too vivid to be real. As if saturation of had some direct correlation to hallucination.

The better part of Felix hoped, nearly prayed at night to the godless void that he’dmatch up, that he’d somehow be good enough in return. Felix wasn’t even aware that there were sprinklers installed in his apartment complex until they started spitting all over him. He kind of figured that the flat was too shit to invest in such elaborate safety measures, but you learn something new every day. Or, every night–– if this very specific and annoying case is supposed to be proof of the phrase.

He rubs his eyes, looks to the neighbouring presence. Recognition flashes across his features as he realizes that he’s his neighbour in the habitual sense too.
