So, for one reason or another I decided it would be FUN to go through all of @jukeboxemcsa ‘s stories from before he started posting to ReadOnlyMind, as there are some true gems on the EMCSA but it can be ... difficult ... to go by publication date, and Jukebox has rather a number of stories there - 535, by my count, from before he started posting to ROM. If you want to see them, a full list of his EMCSA stories can be found here, sorted alphabetically.
I’ll be reviewing them ... probably 10 at a time? With posts scheduled to go out twice a week, as long as I stay ahead of what’s posting. Once I finish reviewing them all, I may increase that frequency because otherwise this will be going until ... sometime in May, I think. Some caveats on my reviewing: I’m grey ace, so the sex part doesn’t actually do much for me. I *much* prefer seeing the control happen to any sex, though I can enjoy a charge of sex through the brainwashing/hypnosis/other control. I also much prefer consensual scenes to non-consensual, though no judgement on folk who prefer other things. My ratings will skew towards the sweet and romantic ones, as a result, though I’ll try to highlight what stands out to me in any given story since I know others have different preferences.
With that said, let’s start! I’m putting these under a readmore, and I”ll do my best to remember to tag my posts with #jukebox reviews so they’re easy to find.

I can already see the things that make so many of Jukebox's stories stand out to me - the equal focus on the process as the result, the characters that feel *real* - and it's a good debut story! The descriptions make my kinesthetic soul happy, too. It isn't *quite* my style - I always prefer consensual stories, with clear relationships that are either developing or already there - but for all that it's still a really good story and I enjoy it quite a lot. 7/10 spirals.

This one ... definitely doesn't grab me the way so many do. Technically, it's still solid through and through, but it just misses anything that would get me invested. I wish there was more sense of just ... everything about the massage parlor. But that's a personal preference, and I'm sure others prefer the "this is just here, and that's what it is" that is presented here. 5/10 spirals

This story leaves me wanting *so much more* - we see the clash between the POV character's conscious wants and subconscious desire, but never get a hint as to the mechanism involved, or what the controller's motivations were, or what happens to both of them, and I'm left wanting a second chapter exploring more. But having said that, the transformation in how he thinks manages to feel both rapid and drawn out in delicious ways all at the same time; it's a wonder of pacing that never ceases to impress me. 8/10 spirals

I think I'm a little too ace for this story. The two characters interacting is interesting, but I just can't understand WHY Susan likes the result of this wish. But that's a me thing, not a story thing. That said, I would love for this wish-giver to show up in more of Jukebox's stories in the future. It'd be interesting to see how Jukebox interacted with this character a couple of decades later. 6/10 spirals

This is the first of Jukebox's stories that actually hits on some of my limits/squicks. Again, there's nothing *wrong* with the story, if you're into this sort of thing, but it isn't for me.

I really enjoy the science trappings of this story, even though ... no, that isn't how ANYTHING works. But it's an interesting "what if" premise, especially tying it into things that *are* scientific models of things. And the characters involved are super interesting with the hints of them get. I feel a bit bad for one of them, but hopefully the effect of the device keeps her happy. And hey - the test conditions are pretty well set up for a prototype. All that said, I prefer stories that focus more on the process of the change, rather than getting to the change, but that's 100000% personal preference. And the name is pretty perfect for the story, too. 7/10 Spirals
Who Can It Be Now?

This doesn't go where I expect it to go, and I love it more for that. The description of the brainwashing that we get? Yes, it hits *so many* of my buttons. I love every bit of futile resistance demonstrated, and the way it's used is delightful. I love every moment of it. And I love it more for how the story ends. This is the earliest of Jukebox's stories I can say I truly love, even though it was far from the first one I read. (What can I say? I wasn't reading these stories when this was published, I was a wee bit too young just then.) 9/10 Spirals
One Way Or Another

This story just puts me off, and there's no reason that it should. It has a lot of the elements I like, and there's almost no focus on sex, which usually is a recipe for a story I really enjoy. Maybe it's the use of a racial slur in the opening, and the general way the fortune teller plays into stereotypes? (In Jukebox's defense, the awareness that g*psy is a racial slur was much less around in 2001, so I don't blame him for using it! But seeing it now, with the awareness that it IS harmful, just ... puts the whole story in a different light to me.) 3/10 spirals.

This story is dark in a way that makes it feel like it doesn't really belong on an *erotic* archive. It's REALLY good, but not really erotic to me. Which is fine - it's just closer to horror to me. Readers should bear that in mind. But it's a compelling setup, and seeing an expansion of the concept here, and how the goddess in question has tried to exert her will in the past? That could be super interesting. 8/10 spirals
Sweet Dreams Are Made of This

This is sweet and cute, and yes, extremely unethical but it's adorable anyway. It isn't how brains work, but it's fun to *pretend* it's how brains work, that people could be so strongly influenced by their environment. And I like the characters and the way they approach things. 9.5/10 spirals
I have often talked about the mainstream TV shows, Movies, and other media that has inadvertently inspired the Hypnosis Fetish in myself and many others but at a certain point in ones Hypnokink journey they discover content that's made for Hypno Fetishists by Hypno Fetishists.
On one hand, I feel like the way I enjoy certain types of content that features mind control has changed just because of the easy access to a wealth of quality erotica, films, shows, comics, and more that are made with the Hypno Fetish community in mind. There was a point where videos in a different language or without sound would appeal to me in the same way that content I could completely grasp the context of would. I knew there was mind control happening even if I did not understand the full context, and that was all i needed, but that's changed over the years. Now if I stumble upon a clip in a different language, without subtitles, I just can't get the same enjoyment out of it that I used to because I've been so spoiled with content in comparison to when I first started searching for erotic mind control content.
Another aspect of being able to immerse myself in hypnosis related content is that whereas once upon a time, almost any narrative with an element of hypnosis would enamor me, now I find that there is a higher standard for my taste in content. I can remember thinking that almost any story of mcstories would be my cup of tea without having any concern for the aptitude of the writer but now I find myself being very particular in what I consume.
One writer who I've really come to enjoy is Tabico. The way some of her stories capture elements like serial recruitment, total personality alterations, and the slow breakdown of ones conscious mind are some of the best I've ever seen.
My newest file, Kidnapped & Brainwashed By Your Therapist, features a narrative element where the subject is drained of all that makes them themself and then made intro a drone like state where they're simply called "Empty". This narrative is very much inspired by some of Tabico's stories such as Community, Neighborhood Watch, Fitness, and Salvation to name a few. Other stories from other authors that inspired this file include Bad Therapy and Mystic Valley by CactusJuggler, and both of Lisalynn_me's stories.
It's unfortunately been far too long since all of these writers have contributed a new story to the EMCSA but between all of them, there is a cornucopia of amazing erotica to be enjoyed if you like my new file and want more content like it.
I have some ideas on how I would continue the "Empty" narrative if there's enough interest. One might be able to predict where that narrative is going if they read some of the stories I listed.
I'm always looking for feedback and as such, if you want more from "Empty" or more files like it then please feel free to let me know by reaching out, liking, commenting, and that way I'll know if people desire more.
Jukebox reviews part 2! For context, see my post “A Project” under this same tag. If you want to see a full list of his EMCSA stories, they can be found here, sorted alphabetically.
Reviews under a readmore, just because it can get long.

Oh hey, I get my wish from my comment on "Simply Irresistable"! The Wish Giver is back, and here we see him being a fair bit more callous - I'm unsure if that's because he was putting on a facade in the last story, or he just liked her more than he likes this guy - who knows? But as I find this man much less tolerable than the gal we met previously - she at least seems to *care* about the folk she influences - I'm ok with it. That said, it doesn't really feel like a *mind control* story, really. Not to me. So any enjoyment I get from this story is from Mikal being a fun character. 3/10 spirals.
I Touch Myself

Oh, this one. On the one hand, a sort-of betrayal by a friend is usually not to my taste. On the other, the set up, the ... well, EVERYTHING about how it happens, is wonderful. I do wish we got more of an internal shift in Leigh - we see the changes, but not any change in her internal view of things. That doesn't feel like it meshes with how Anne describes the spell. And Anne commenting that she has a life outside her Master doesn't jibe with the observation that she just disappeared from her friends' lives. Having said that, all of that is just as easily explained by Anne being an unreliable narrator to her own experiences, which adds a level to the spell and the control. Really, if only we got more of an internal shift in Leigh, I'd put this story among my favourites. (Hey, I like what I like.) 8/10 spirals.

There's a ... humor? I guess? to the end of this story. I don't know that I find it hot, exactly? But I still really enjoy it, more as a piece of speculative fiction than erotica, though. The characters are delightful, the premise is intriguing, and nobody's being cruel. It's just a fun romp, really, with a touch of a comedy of errors vibe. 7/10 spirals

I adore the slow, letter by letter shift in how Alec thinks. It's a little ... cold? impersonal? Both? And I prefer very personal attention approaches. But even then, this gets a LOT for me just from seeing how Alec changes over each letter, and how he's effected by the stories he reads. And, well, the idea of being slowly, irrevocably changed by reading hypnotic stories is extremely hot, too, which balances out the less-to-my-taste tone of the story. 8/10 spirals

A rare multi-part story from Jukebox! And it's a good one! The amount of stating what would happen if... just makes all of it so extremely true, in ways that as an experienced hypnotist I recognize. The priming is amazingly well done, even as the ending feels predictable from the beginning. It's the technique here that I enjoy so much, the priming and subtle conditioning and using the stress of the situation to keep her from strongly questioning what's going on. I also appreciate that each chapter starts in the same basic way; it's a nice touch. 7/10 spirals

This is one of those stories where I have to wonder what happened before what we're seeing. Did Molly choose this? I hope so, though I know it's unlikely. The premise of manual having the effect it does is really clever, though, and I appreciate the nod to how conditioning has to be reinforced, and it's a good way to go about it. 8/10 spirals.

I love this story. The idea of someone knowing what she wants outside of what an outside (judgemental!) observer thinks she should want? That she's being warned it's a "bad" relationship, but can see that it's only by their standards, and that she wants that anyway? Yes please! Having said that, it's a bit too ... focused on the sex for me. I wish I liked it more than I did. 5/10 spirals.

This is very much a turn-off for me; not just the coldness of it, but the use of a fear to compell obedience. It's just much too dark for me, for all that technically it's a solid story.

The description of meeting the vampire's eyes in this story makes me swoon. It doesn't end the way I'd like it to, of course - though that's quite alright, it's a way that makes sense for the characters, given a definition of sense. But for that single breath of a scene at the beginning of the story, this one will stay with me for a long, long time. Jukebox has captured the very idea/sensation that makes vampires one of my particular flavors of hypnosis kink. 8/10 spirals.

Way too much sex for this ace gal. I don't feel capable of giving it a rating; the military vibes also ... like, I *grew up* around women in the military, and it just clashes so much with the women I knew and know that I just can't get past that to get into the story.
