Ollie was anything but a patient man. He wasn’t fond over the fact he has been standing inside Hal’s apartment for the past thirty minutes, checking his watch, checking the clock, checking the DVR, and his phone to ensure that time did not suddenly fall in on itself and lost all authority over reality. Two weeks ago they made arrangements to watch the boxing match between Nielsen and Markussen at Hal’s place; Ollie supplies the food, the drinks (beer for Hal, root beer for himself), the snacks, and company. All Hal had to do was show up and turn on the television.
A glimmer of green light simultaneously pleases Ollie and angers him. He storms to the patio door and rips it open to welcome Hal home. “A call would’ve been nice - hell, could’ve have used your damn smart phone to send me a message! Isn’t that thing have an AI in it that follows your every command!? We missed the first round, get undressed, chili and beer are in the fridge, potato chips on the coffee table and for god’s sakes Hal, be on time for once!”
