Continuing with September Emergency Preparedness Month and food preparations and freeze dried meals. The first picture is the safe I store my store all my @mtnhouse freeze dried meals. Most are organized and stored in the totes by breakfast meals, beef, chicken, pork, Number 10 cans and sealed boxes of bulk pouches seen in the second and third picture. Freeze dried meals are easy to prepare by boiling water, stirring and letting it sit for ten minutes or less. The variety of meals make it easy to buy the flavors you want and will eat comfortably. Add seasonings, meats or vegetables to a meal and you can extend how many people you can feed and the longevity of your preparations while changing it up a bit so it doesn’t get boring. I have a few packets lose as I’ve ran out of storage space for them and estimate an easy two to three months worth of meals adding items from the pantry that won’t require refrigeration. Yes I keep them stored in a @sentrysafe , I’ve got a lot invested into them and if someone broke into the house, they’d have to work to get to them. While no longer a product ambassador for Mountain House I still purchase their meals for emergency preparedness as well as my camping and hiking trips thanking them for the opportunity I was given to work with them over the years and help keep my family and loved ones prepared. #emergencypreparedness #emergencypreparednessmonth #prepper #prepping #survival #survivalist #camping #hiking #naturaldisasters #mountainhouse #campfood #campingfood #hikingfood #prepared #zombies #preparedness #bushcraft #bushcraftandprepping #apocalypse #survivor #worstcasescenario #justincase https://www.instagram.com/p/CULnULcJl_P/?utm_medium=tumblr
