pollen dust and pastels: the village

this post will be the main source of info regarding the basics of my yellowjackets agere/petre series pollen dust and pastels! it will be updated as more additions are made to the lore, but please feel free to send asks/requests at any time!

the basics

in this au, the outcome of the crash was different, and the only survivors are the named yellowjackets(including rachel & robin). also my goat coach ben! instead of the horrible nightmare we all know and love, they managed to set up a lovely primitive lesbian eco-village(and the cabin doesn't exist probably idk) :)

the garden(s)

the team's garden is more of a hodge-podge than an organized site. it's filled with the plant life that they know is edible and filling, with some areas set aside for experimentation with new crops! it's not nearly enough to feed them all on it's own, but it helps take pressure off of the hunters and gatherers.

the storeroom

built half into a hill for cooling/stability, the storeroom is where the team keeps their few non-perishables, along with smoked meats and other long-lasting foods. really, anything that they can store in bulk that belongs to the group at large is kept there.

the "dining room"

coined by little!jackie, the dining room is really two dozen or so logs strewn about around their firepit and cook site. The team eats together as often as they can, and do so outdoors whenever the weather allows it. they eat with a mixture of some pots and silverware they found at an abandoned camp, carved utensils/plates, and their hands of course :)

housing arrangements

like i said, they live in a little village, so there are various structures that house different yellowjackets. for more detailed information on that and what everyone's role in their little community is, please stay tuned for my next posts all about it!

Character concept for my comic (currently titled Outlanders, though that may change). He is one of the villains in the story. A full portrait, references, and his complete backstory can be expected later. Possible on reference he will be modified with more elemental markings, and scars that show his survivalist nature. Character information so far: - Pyre is not his real name. - During the Dark War, Pyre lost everything: his home and his family. - He survived alone for years. Even the Ancestors abandoned him - or so he believes. - Pyre hates Malefor and his minions; he hates Cynder, he hates Spyro, he hates dragons, and he hates the world around him. Pyre simply hates his life, and he is more than happy to show it to anyone who stands in his way. - Pyre especially hates Spyro, because Spyro represents hope - and to Pyre, hope is a lie. And because Spyro didn't let the world to be destroyed. - He has no interest in ruling the world or rebuilding it into something new. All he wants is to watch it burn, until there is nothing left but ash and the eternal silence that follows. - Pyre is brutally honest and never lies. If his opponents do not believe him, it only amuses him. - Pyre holds no true loyalty to anyone. His current allies are merely the fastest means to achieve what he desires. - Deep in his mind he has doubts that all his fight and anger are pointless and lead into nowhere. But he doesn't care. - Interesting, but Pyre is not prone to berserker rage. His anger always under his control and unleashed only where it is needed. IMPORTANT: Pyre is NOT Pyra (Ignitus's squire). He is not a dark version of him, not dark part of his consciousness, nor is he an evil twin from an alternate reality. They are completely unrelated and have never met. Also, Pyre is not related to Ignitus, Flame, Ember, Red etc.
