New BLOG :D

Moonrise Kingdom - Wes Anderson - 2012
Safe to watch !
Summer 1965. On an island off the coast of New England, 2 children fall in love, make a secret pact, and run away together.
Possibly my favourite film ever. Such a universe is created in which you can just drown in cuteness. It’s a bit like the materialisation of a dream world, with perfect casting, well chosen music, super attaching characters...
Fantastic Mr. Fox - Wes Anderson <3 - 2009
ALL CLEAR (then again it’s an animation so yeah, but I saw this yesterday and as you never know :))
Mr. Fox, his wife, son, a cousin and other forest animals defy 3 odious farmers. They will live a great adventure.
I really didn’t want to watch this and it was a bit slow at the beginning but then I really started to get into it. I didn’t realise it was a Wes Anderson film at first, whom I really like. So anyway, my parents really didn’t like it but as I got about halfway, I started to find the film really singular in its aesthetic (as only a Roald Dahl / Wes Anderson combo can do). It’s kind of poetic if you take the time to enjoy it :)
The Man From Earth - Richard Schenkman - 2007
ALL CLEAR !!
Very... interesting film. John, history teacher, is surprised by his colleagues turning up for a leaving party in his honor. He finally admits that he’s not 35 but 14,000.
This is classed as science-fiction but I disagree. It’s more of a drama, since it’s a huiclos, the film is based solely on dialogue. It’s teaches you a lot of things and is an interesting approach to the world despite a few things that disappointed me and an element that I find laughable. Also impressive since they had very few means for this film.
The Breakfast Club - John Hughes - 1985
Occurrence : None
Mentioned : Twice - in a non graphic off-hand way :)
5 students have nothing in common and find themselves in detention all day on a saturday. It all happens at the school (a huis-clos) so the importance is all on the dialogue. It’s very teenish, but I really enjoyed it, it’s heart-warming and cute.
the saga of emetophobia
when someone asks if anyone has tums and you quickly save the day cause you always carry them around
when someone in the same room as you says they don't feel so good
when teacher says "do you want the trash can by you just in case" to said person... and they say "yes"
when they START RUNNING OUT OF THE ROOM EVERY FEW MINUTES
everyone else's reactions to you...and your retaliation
that moment when it's been 48 hours since the last time you were in the presence of someone with a stomach virus...but you realize you work with them again Monday and they're still technically contagious
ATTENTION EMETOPHOBES:
If any of you are planning on seeing MAN OF STEEL you should know that there is a scene where Super Man has a sudden sputter of blood from his mouth. I'm not normally one to be bothered by blood but it was kinda unexpected and just disgusting and totally disturbed me (like, a lot). So PAY CLOSE ATTENTION! I was so thrown off guard I can't quite remember where it is but its around when Super Man first talks to the evil dude in person on the ship. Just wanted people to be aware so they don't have to freak like I did!
life can really, really suck when you're majorly emetophobic.
