It was much like they remembered from the pictures that Hayle and Chris had shown them from their wedding, just different colors on the flowers and of course, they could only guess chairs and such had been changed since then. And of course, the food caterer was someone else as it would seem Carl’s place was now the family wedding caterer. 

Flynn: Vy is waiting for you and the little ones over there, and my dad, Fan and Arlo will help me out. Lucas has said he will do the greeting as people come. -he kissed his dragon on the cheek.- see you in a little. 

Tyvan and Rylan had already found their “Gramma Vy” so Emil just smiled giving Flynn a quick kiss back before he went to find all three of them and get ready. Flynn knew his dad would be the best to help keep him calm, Fannar being his best man, and well Arlo enjoyed the company of his father as well. 

Vy: I agree, mommy looks very pretty.

They smile at the two little ones who he has helped into their suits, while Emil had been busy putting on their own. There had been so many weddings lately that they couldn’t help being reminded once again of their own. 

Emil: I saw pictures from your wedding, it looked amazing Vy: It really was. Hayden pulled out all the stops that day, so to say. Emil: Thank you. Vy: For what? Emil: For helping today, and allowing me into the family.

He had an extra reason to be nervous, but that was the one thing he could not tell Emil about, as that was his wedding gift and surprise for him. It had started with him and his dad trying to work out a way to use the fated mate bond werewolves had to something like a heartlight, but it was when he had talked with Fannar on a visit, that Arlo had suddenly said that he could help. With that, some very secretive planning had happened, and this simulated heartlight connection was his gift to Emil at their wedding. His dad had of course been in on it as well to make sure it was safe for both. 

It was one of the things he had been very clear on as he came back home. He would never ever use the familiar bond with Emil again. He could have forced Emil to leave forever in a meltdown, he did, but luckily the bond was still loose enough to let Emil resist it. They had talked about it, also with their therapist, and they both agreed that it was not a solution for them anymore. It was perhaps one of the things he had been most proud of after coming home, the number of times they just sat down and talked things true properly, Emil never letting Flynn slip into the old habit of letting thighs be fine unless of course, they came to the conclusion that it actually was fine. 

Tyvan: It will be fine!

Emil’s eyes went to Flynn, they had noticed that whenever their little ones used that expression, it was a trigger for Flynn. A worry they would end up like ha had, a world where nothing could be anything but fine.

Rylan: After we change!  Emil: Yes, now come along. 

They smile, taking the two with them for a change of clothing, letting Flynn relax a little, as they know he will soon be helping Arlo and Fannar come and have a bit of time with just them before they head to the wedding location. 

Tyvan: Uncle fan!

It was some hours and chickens were fed later that Fannar and Arlo sat in their living room. Rylan is already sitting next to Arlo having asked if he would read his favorite book for him. It was one thing both Fannar and Flynn had noticed, that Arlo was surprisingly good with the little ones. Fannar picked up Tyvan into his lap, gently booping his nose.

Fannar: And what do you want? Tyvan: Hug, please!

Fannar just chuckled, and hugged Tyvan. They knew their twin and Emil had taught both kids to not just run and hug their uncles, but to ask first with of course a proper explanation as to why. It was something they really appreciated, both for themselves and for Arlo.

Today was one of those times they wanted too, they wanted to say sorry once again for attacking him back then. For trying to take their life, for being such a burden, giving him sick schills and leaving him when he needed them the most.

Flynn: I know what you're thinking. Of course, he knew what his dragon was thinking. Even without the familiar bond, simply because he knew Emil. He knew his dragon well enough to know the nightmares they had, as well as the simple fact that the reason for them came from their past.

Flynn: You are not a burden Emil, and you're not alone in having nightmares. Emil watched them, they knew Flynn was true, and they knew he too had nightmares of his own, although they felt less common occurrence these days. Yet, that feeling of being a burden was not easily pushed away, knowing what he had been through, also because of them. They were part of that pain, and they hated it. 

Emil: You keep saying this.. But I still feel like I am. I even disturb you with nightmares, and I tried to kill you once!

Their voice raised a little when they said the last words, they hurt to say, they hated those words, but they were their actions, and they had to live with that. Flynn shook their head slightly, although they understood all too well where it came from. It was like his dad had told him when he asked, that the reason Emil felt so bad about it still, was because they loved him.

There was another collective awww sound from the crowd, before the music started and the three from Lucas’s old band took over for a while. River took Lucas back to the table, sitting down with an arm around his shoulders.

River: You all knew? Flynn: Yep, this has been well planned and hidden.

River: So sneaky. -he chuckles as he notices Liam curling up in his lap, clearly tired from all the excitement.- And I see someone else was in on it.

Carl and Mel had walked over, Mel nodding to confirm they had been in on it as well. Lucas had asked to be allowed to after all. 

Carl: So, as your engagement present from the two of us, there is a very special dessert coming up, I hope you like it. A little taste so you can consider us for catering at your wedding.-he winked noticing the smile on Lucas’s face- Lucas: Thank you, and thank you for letting them come too. -he motioned to his old band members who now we're singing, and he knew they had a table for when they were done.- It is the first time we have met since all of it earlier today.

Mel: You are very welcome. 

He nodded before he and Carl went back to what they would normally do. River sat with one arm around a very tired Liam, and the other around what he could only assume was an almost equally tired Lucas.

Vy watched Emil, noting the sadness in their eyes, and the slight worried look they had. They pulled out one of the bar chairs they had by their kitchen island so they could sit while he packed some cookies.

Vy: So.. what is it? Emil: They're sick… Vy: The eggs? -they stop what they were doing, meeting Emil’s worried eyes.- In what way? Emil: I’m not sure, but I can feel it. Something isn’t right. -they sigh- I think it's because of me, all the damage taken and done. Vy: It could be, or it can just be a random happening. It happens to the healthiest of dragons as well. 

He could guess what was on Emil’s mind. Most dragons would eat the eggs if they noticed something was wrong.

Vy: in a situation like this... it's normal for a dragon to eat the eggs... Emil: Would you? Vy: No... And I think you won't either. Emil: I can't… I can’t… lose another one… -instinctively he fidgeted with the shards in his earrings- I can’t! I want them so bad... But what if they are born sick and can't be happy or well and... and... Vy: We'll take care of them. All of us. The same way Chris and Hayle took care of Hayden, the same way Hayden and I took care of Arlene and El... We don't have to keep the dragon tradition. -he nods at Emil.- We follow our family's tradition, this family's tradition.

Vy just smiled, Tyvan pulling on their hand about something.

Vy: You proved yourself, but.. Emil: You will always keep an eye on me, thank you for that.

Vy nodded, letting Tyvan show him for the millionth time the two rings that were in their boxes, one for each of the twins to carry. The pillows lying next to the boxes after Rylan had moved them there so they were close by. The rings they had found at a local small goldsmith in their home-town, fairly simple gold ones, but Emil’s had a little extra bling.

Yvreon: Ready? Emil: I believe so, yes. 

They took one last look in the mirror, as Hayle joined them with a nod as Emil had asked if they would walk down the aisle with him. There had always been something with Hayle he found to feel good and right somehow. 

Hayle: Something wrong? Emil: No.. nothing. I just.. Vy: Remembered you once wanted this with someone else?

Although they had not decided, Flynn knew two names he would like to have for them, if they were both boys. He hoped Emil would like them as well, he thought they would. 

Liam: Can I sit too? Flynn nods, Lucas letting his little one walk over to Flynn and sit there too. It was a bit of a snug fit with the two others, and Liam soon enough had their full attention, which led to his playful singing laugh filling the room to the wide eyed response of his “little brothers.” 

Emil: I see they already bonded.

Their little ones are already playing with the little sunlight. They would be quick learners, the two of them, Emil knew their little ones would prosper.

Emil: Heh… chasing the stars -they smiled.- 

They were not devourers like them, but they would be massive dragons, the type that pulled solar systems behind them and they felt that was thanks to Flynn divine blood. Walking back, they sat next to Flynn who just smiled at them when they sat down. 

Flynn: I have a name suggestion for them, would you like to know? Emil: Oh.. Yes.
