Monster: what is your favorite scary movie to watch in the dark?

I don’t have any that I habitually watch, though there are plenty of horror movies that I love, and generally scary and creepy films that I have seen a lot of times.  I guess my answer will be: the one scary movie that ever truly creeped me out was The Blair Witch Project which I watched alone in the dark in the middle of the night, NO THANK YOU.

Black cat: are you superstitious? if so, what are you superstitious about?

I don’t think of myself as a superstitious person, but like, I’d never say Bloody Mary in front of a mirror, I don’t wanna fuckin die are you kidding.  I guess my policy is better safe than sorry, but only for like, non-frivolous things.  Like the number 13 or like, walking under ladders or opening umbrellas indoors, that is stupid shit.  But I wouldn’t fuck with a burial site or places that are supposed to be haunted / things that are supposed to be cursed.  Like, why tempt fate.  I’m not gonna be that person from the first two minutes of a Supernatural episode you feel me?

Oh god where do I even...

It's about Baltimore. The city of. It's about bureaucracy and the grinding, endless cycle of violence and poverty and near-poverty and ennui and racism that comes from flawed, soul-sucking systems run by corrupt, greedy men. It's about a few people trying to do the right thing, but ultimately their efforts are futile due to the system within which they're forced to work.

It's about a drunk cop who constantly fucks up everything he touches. It's about a drug dealer who wants to run things differently, and a drug dealer who wants to run things the old way, and a vigilante who's looking for his payday.

It's about progress-as-destruction, gentrification as decay, and good people doing the wrong thing for the right reasons. It's about hope and hopelessness and change and stasis. The more things change the more they stay the same, and the more you hope and the higher you reach, the longer and harder you fall.

It's amazing, life-changing television.
