CHAPTER ONE: TRUTH BE TOLD
Emily Avalos has learned a long time ago that nothing could really surprise her anymore. As shallow as it sounded, maybe it was because she constantly lived in some of the most expensive cities in the world, got to meet famous people practically every week, or was exposed to exotic things all the time. Or, if she was more realistic, maybe nothing fazed her anymore was because she has become accustomed to the strange life of her eccentric father.
He’s Iron Man? Cool. Fought against a God? Alright. Science buddies with the big green guy? Amazing. Keeps forgetting to pick her up at the airport because he got caught up recruiting a new Avenger? Not cool. But him having a random kid as an ‘intern’ around the same time Iron Man has been hanging around this Spiderling? That’s a new one, but then again, she’s dealt with stranger things than an awkward teenage boy.

Emily Avalos + Character Playlist
“I could have graduated high school and been in my third year of college, but my parents didn’t want that. They said it would be good for me to interact with students my age, like you. So, what I’m trying to is, like, do you want to go to a physics lecture with me? We can go for donuts afterward.”

Character Profile: Emily Avalos
Emily was smart, there was no denying that. Although she was nowhere near as smart as her father, but she liked to think that she made it up by her other strenghts. What other strenghts you may ask? Emily wasn’t sure quite yet but she was looking for them.
She was after all a Stark and that meant she was destined to be great. Maybe she will find the cure of cancer. Or maybe she will end hunger in developing countries. Or maybe she might finally make cars fly. But for the moment, she could say that her biggest accomplishment is being able to convince her overbearing mother to let her live with her slightly less overbearing father.
She hoped that change of space will allow her find herself, be more than that rich girl. And what better way to start than delve into journalism. Thank God for that new Spiderling that has been swinging around New York is serving as her current muse. Maybe finding out who he is can be one of her many greatest accomplishments.
