Red?
red: how was your first kiss? what do you love about yourself? when’s the last time you warmed your hands in front of a fire? would you rather watch a sunrise or sunset? what’s the best thing about summer?
My first real kiss was… A good kiss, but not a good situation. I was kinda fucked up mentally when it happened, and so was the boy who kissed me. I don’t know if I regret it or not.
Uh… I love when I write something and the words fit perfectly. I love that the rain makes me happy.
I warmed my hands in front of a fire…. Last week? Ish. The best way to warm your hands, I think.
I think that generally I prefer sunsets, because afterwards you can wait for it to get dark and then there are stars to look at. But when I’m backpacking, especially when I’m high in the mountains. I definitely prefer sunrises- it’s cold, and you start a fire just as it starts to get light, and you’re still sleepy and your head feels kind of fuzzy but the world around you is so crystal clear, so sharp it takes your breath away, and the contrast makes you feel as if you’re dreaming. And the mountains are so tall around you, and the world seems so immense and detailed, and you feel tiny, but not in a bad way. And then you mix hot chocolate with your coffee and the sun comes up over the mountains and it’s so warm when it hits you, and you can’t help feeling happy.
The best thing about summer is driving around with your friends and going shopping in dumb thrift stores and listening to loud music and buying fried zucchini and skinny dipping in the lake. The best part about summer is driving to the top of the mountain that overlooks the desert and watching the meteor shower. The best part of summer is seeing your favorite band perform in some tiny venue in LA and feeling the bass guitar in your stomach. The best part of summer is off roading, and going way too fast, and laughing, and exploring all of the dirt roads that crisscross the mountains. The best part of summer is when your best friend drags you out into the middle of the forest to show you a tree, and you’re skeptical at first because it’s just a tree, it can’t be that special. But then you see it, you see the strong trunk and the perfect halo of branches, and you climb up to the very top of it and you finally get it, you finally understand why he got it tattooed on his hip. And you stay there, in the most beautiful tree in the world, until it gets dark.
