She was a natural blonde with hints of strawberry and darker tones in her long hair, and it was split into two messy ties just behind her ears. She was tan and fit with an athletic, curvy build and delicate features, and her eyes were a deep green. She’d always been a pretty girl with a mischievous personality, just the type Nick and Kelly both would probably be drawn to. Ty gave her skimpy cocktail dress a disapproving once-over.

Emma Grady on the Cover of UVM’s Alumni Magazine

I am happy to share the current issue of Vermont Quarterly, the good ol’ University of Vermont’s alumni magazine. It is humbling to be among the “New York City Ten” highlighted in the summer issue.

On Emma, editor Thomas Weaver writes, “Grady’s interest in fashion traces back to childhood watching old Hollywood movies with her father. She was deeply drawn to the classic styles. Her passions connected when Grady convinced her editor to assign her coverage of New York’s Fashion Week from an eco-conscious angle.”

Farewell, Film Biz Recycling (Event)

Film Biz Recycling is closing its doors. The non-profit organization made creative use of set materials and wardrobe--and diverted more than 450 tons of waste--with their retail shop in Brooklyn, New York.

Here is a look back at two of my favorite fashion week outfits with pieces found from the secondhand shop--and details on the major shopping discounts before they close on June 20.
