I think you're getting a little too het up about this....like it could've been a good narrative point if the author didn't write his female characters so poorly and so revolved around other male characters. And Emma is a 14 year old girl don't forget that, ofc shes gonna make reckless decisions her brothers being in gangs doesn't help, she's definitely a lonely girl. And I sympathise with Shinichiro to a certain extent and I also sympathise with Mikey a lot. All of it has nuance, its not one thing or the other. Its just Emma is mostly overlooked, and its definitely due to sexism and bad writing.

I got mad not at Emma but at the author of that video and his behavior. Bro we're talking about completely different things now. I'm not saying Emma is bad or that at 14 she should think like an adult. I'm just saying that her safety depends not only on her brothers, but also on herself. It's hard to judge Emma when she's a bad writing character

Emma is definitely put second to almost everbody in her life though...Shinichiro, Draken, Izana(that motherfucker had her killed☠️)....I think Mikey is probably the only one that would put her first though.

I wrote that post cuz the creator of that video really pissed me off. For some reason they were paying too much attention to Emma as if she’s the only and most important reason why Shinichiro and Manjiro are selfish. All they kept saying in the comments was 'Well, they have no right to start their own gangs because it could hurt Emma." Okay sure, I can see that perspective BUT the creator was thinking ONLY about Emma and didn't even try to look at the situation from Shinichiro and Manjiro's point of view

Besides, let’s stop acting like Emma is some innocent angel who can’t stand up for herself. If her brothers' ties to the gang world really bothered her that much in her life, she wouldn't be attending Manjiro’s gang meetings or showing her face to other gang members in the first place. If she was being tormented so much by her brothers' enemies, she and Manjiro would have tried to keep her appearance and information about her in secret

And let’s not forget about the situation with Takemichi and Emma. When Emma decided she wanted to "grow up" for Draken, she didn't just pick some random guy off the street or school or somebody she knew, she specifically chose someone from her brother’s GANG. She got lucky that it was Takemichi, but it could’ve easily been some sick bastard. So it’s not just on Shinichiro and Manjiro
