A small thing for you my love until I can finally write something decent. Blame Eric and those gifs.

It’s the last home game of the season and Eric has decided that it’s finally time to reveal your most precious gift, your little girl, to the fans as part of the lap of honour. She had been born several months before but her birth had been kept under wraps, so determined was Eric that she would have an as close to normal upbringing as possible. So far she had been kept out of the press and there hadn’t been any news of her across social media. He knows realistically that it’s not going to last so he wants to be able to at least control her introduction, to keep things as unobtrusive as possible. He’s got her dressed in a small lily-white kit, Daddy 15 proudly on the back and he’s holding her impossibly close to his broad chest.

Her little fingers are closed around the neck of his dark top and she slumbers peacefully for the moment whilst he paces back and forth, the movement keeping her lulled for now. One of his hands trails a feather light touch over her back, tracing the words and a sense of pride fills him once again at the thought of him being a father, a beautiful baby to call his own. He’d done many of these laps before, some by himself, some with Dele and even some with members of his extended family but this was the first time with a baby that he could call his own.

Before he knows it they are being given the all clear to step back onto the pitch and he’s stepping forward, pushing through the wall of sound. She stirs a little against his chest, the sound of the fans still unusual to her and Eric’s brushing her soft hair as he whispers a small ‘ssh’ against her head. He’s steadfastly ignoring the club photographer who’s flitting between the players and focusing on making it around the pitch in one piece, without disturbing his little girl who’s still nestling into his shirt.

He can feel the soft material of her headband brushing against his beard, as her head stays tucked into the crook of his neck as he shifts her weight slightly on his arm. Then there’s Dele coming up to them and asking in a soft whisper how his ‘favourite Princesa’ is getting on and he’s tickling under her little chin as she stirs, arms and legs being to unfurl, kicking out against Eric’s body. Dele takes one of her little fingers and gives it a squeeze before he’s patting Eric on the back and stepping back to give them room.

He can feel her still shifting so he adjusts his arms, biceps flexing as he moves her so she is now cradled into the crook of his arm. Using his free arm he adjusts her small socks, making sure her feet are still covered as he beams down at her. Her big blue eyes peer back him, dimples forming on her cheeks as she squirms and reaches for him, determined to gum on his finger.

The noise and the hustle of the stadium seemed to fade away as he watched her play with his hand, the rush of love and adoration swelling inside him once again taking him by surprise. He thought he’d know love before but this…this was beyond anything he could have dreamt of, his perfect little princesa.
