spent the last few days unable to walk unsupported because of my endometriosis. read last night about the history of endometriosis and how it was treated (it wasn’t lol). and how many cases that were written off as “hysteria” up through the 16th century (and beyond but it was very concentrated in the middle ages) was potentially women suffering from chronic pelvic pain. and how women who suffered from chronic pelvic pain were burned at the stake because the convulsions their pain caused was somehow misinterpreted as demonic possession/being a witch. and then today. i meet with my FEMALE pain doctor. because i cannot walk. because of the pain. and she prescribed me muscle relaxers. when endometriosis. causes. NERVE PAIN. and INFLAMMATION. which muscle relaxers DON’T HELP. and she would not let me talk to her about other interventions. and then immediately after that i get an email from a coworker who STILL THINKS that i’m a man because i go by han.
