Happy Independence Day!! 😊🇺🇸 Taking an opportunity today to letter this amazing quote from the Statue of Liberty ❤️💙❤️💙 "Give me your tired, your poor, Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free, The wretched refuse of your teeming shore. Send these, the homeless, tempest-tost to me, I lift my lamp beside the golden door!" Emma Lazarus, "The New Colossus"
“A mighty woman with a torch, whose flame Is the imprisoned lightning, and her name MOTHER OF EXILES.” #emmalazarus #statueofliberty #acolorstory
Here at our sea-washed, sunset gates shall stand A mighty woman with a torch, whose flame Is the imprisoned lightning, and her name Mother of Exiles. From her beacon-hand Glows world-wide welcome; her mild eyes command The air-bridged harbor that twin cities frame. "Keep, ancient lands, your storied pomp!" cries she With silent lips. "Give me your tired, your poor, Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free, The wretched refuse of your teeming shore. Send these, the homeless, tempest-tost to me, I lift my lamp beside the golden door! — Emma Lazarus, "The New Colossus" (1883) 🗽📜🇺🇸 ・・・・・ #Repost @z_al with @repostapp ・・・・・ @the_oa @britmarling @netflix #statueofliberty #theoa #netflix #britmarling #oa #zalbatmanglij #emmalazarus #thenewcolossus #sonnet #1883 #libertyisland #newyork #statueofliberty #thestatueofliberty #freedom #🇺🇸 #🗽 #huddledmasses #breathe #free #givemeyourtired #homeless #temptest #yearningtobreathefree #huddledmassesyearningtobreathefree #sendthesethehomelesstempesttosttome #strongertogether #OURmerica #landforallpeople

Emma Lazarus - Wikipedia
I had the privilege of meeting Yuri when I was in college and her words continue to move and inspire me to this day. She was a giant in our community who tirelessly fought for civil rights, for API and Black liberation, and for the marginalized and oppressed. We must continue to fight for what we believe in, for a world that is just and equitable, and one that we can all feel safe being our whole authentic selves in. During these trying times, the struggle does indeed continue, but we must be resolute in dismantling the systems and structures that would have us turn against one another for "until we are all free, we are none of us free." . . . #yurikochiyama #emmalazarus #stopaapihate #solidarity (at Oakland, California) https://www.instagram.com/p/CbOXZOXJb0U/?utm_medium=tumblr
«Keep, ancient lands, your storied pomp! - cries she With silent lips. "Give me your tired, your poor, Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free, The wretched refuse of your teeming shore. Send these, the homeless, tempest-tost to me, I lift my lamp beside the golden door!». «Tenetevi, o antiche terre, la vostra vana pompa - grida essa [la statua] con le silenti labbra - Datemi i vostri stanchi, i vostri poveri, le vostre masse infreddolite desiderose di respirare liberi, i rifiuti miserabili delle vostre coste affollate. Mandatemi loro, i senzatetto, gli scossi dalle tempeste e io solleverò la mia fiaccola accanto alla porta dorata».
