What kind of candy is your favorite to eat, in a world where there are no consequences for eating any kind of candy? (This is the world in which I live, in my mind!) What kind of candy best represents your personality? What kind of candy is Ruth? What kind of candy is your job? What kind of candy is your favorite Brittana piece you've written?

I love truffles best:  just pure chocolate and cream. I think I might be a dark chocolate truffle from See’s. Ruth is a dark truffle with coconut.

I was going to say that my writing is like Lucy and Ethel in the chocolate factory, but I suppose, instead, that it’s hot chocolate that I get to curl up with in the dark or in some cafe corner. (Emma, were you craving candy when you asked these questions? :))) )

Maybe "The Kiss" isn’t a candy? But Ruth thought maybe it was blue rock candy. Thank you for the sweet questions, Emma! :D

As someone who is a lover of mermaids, are you also a lover of water? Do you like swimming/scuba/other water activities? If yes, please tell a story about one :)

Emma, m’lady! :)

I love lagoons, rivers, waterfalls, and streams, and I love clear water that I can wade through or swim in. I love the ocean, too, even when it’s cold, and I love the animals and plants who/that live in water. (My dad’s a marine biologist, so maybe this is predictable.)

I lived for a year in Minnesota, the land of 10,000 lakes, and I found that I like lakes best when they’re frozen a sea-green color and covered with snow. If you drive through Minnesota in the winter and see a perfectly clear, perfect field of snow, it’s probably a frozen lake. And then the snow and the sky turn these beautiful colors at twilight and at night.

(When I dream of flying, it’s almost always a swimming dream.)
