I'm the older, parentified sister of a child with special needs!! And I see a lot of my brother and I, and my mom as well, in the Danvers Family Dynamics. That's part of what drew me for the show and why I begged my brother to watch with me! But then S2 happened and I was like never mind! So we watch Wynonna Earp instead. Any time you want to talk about Sibling feels and neurodiversity, hit me up!
yeah i’ve heard this a Lot like most people started watching in s1 for alex and kara and i get the s2 shit, but apparently they’re supposed to be going back to focusing on alex and kara so i’m Hoping
there’s hc of kara as autistic and variations and that she has SPD and unlike clark, kara didnt grow up with these senses, plus as they not even just imply, she’s stronger and faster than him so that would also mean her senses are enhances to a greater degree than clark's like. she would have more trouble with things than someone who also got to grow up on a farm, away from everyone. and alex is now abruptly not just an older sibling, but an older sibling of a special needs child
who, if people find out is special needs, will cart her off to be experimented on and never seen again
fun fact: agencies? horrible at sharing info with each other. esp intelligence agencies. and not like one foreign intelligence agency with another but even just ones that share a common government, because--according to the bureaucratic politics theory--they all have their own agendas, p much
the DEO wouldnt tell another agency about Kara because what if that agency takes her when they want her for themselves?
it’s probably why Eliza wasn’t as worried after Jeremiah--their leverage--died. It’s mutually assured destruction. After dealing with the DEO for who knows how long at that point, my guess is Eliza has some kind of proof of their existence. It’s what Alex would do--and Alex decided to follow in her mother’s footsteps. That her father also worked at the DEO was never something she knew about--she wanted to be like her mom. The DEO wasn’t her dad’s ambition, or dream, or career path. It’s not the same.
So, my point is other agencies wouldn’t know about Kara. So they have a special needs child, and no one can even know.
