It's the European Song Contest where every country sends a singer or band. Or more like "I'm just gonna vote for my neighboring country" contest perhaps. And songs aren't really THAT good anyway but who cares.

It's the European Song Contest. Every country sends a singer/band to represent them and then there are semifinals and the final where we all vote for the winner.

but last year (i think) there's a bearded lady and she won. like i remember her name is Conchita. is this something Europeans enjoy? i heard Australia's gonna send someone in. i am seriously really intrigued because i'm getting a kick out of the posts afterwards even though i don't understand them most of the time

emmashero - YOU, my gorgeous turkish goddess with the amazing eyebrows. you're really this sweet sweet girl with a dirty mind who is always working her best to make people feel good and I love you for that. you also always manage to make us laugh in the most effortless way and I truly believe this is a gift that should be very much cherished. oh, and I also love you to bits! :)

oncepromised - my peanut is like the coolest girl on earth. you can talk to her about pretty much any subject (believe me, we probably already did) and she's the greatest person to maintain a conversation at anytime. she's also like very well traveled like knows all the world and even mars, because she's that cool lol yunicorn is also this giffing machine and she always comes up with the greatest ideas ever for those things. in other news, her mind should be protected at all costs. that kid also happens to be one of my best friends in the whole world and I love her and can't wait to party with her in the snow drinking starbucks.

fuckstruckswan - jo happens to be my favorite french canadian villain (because yeah, I know a lot of those). she has this amazing love for Killian Jones (and Colin, obviously) and everything she creates is eye candy. she's also super nice and gorgeous and pretty much has the most wonderful eyes in the history of humanity but you know... no biggie, lol jta mon chère :)

wedlakeserenities - my twinsie is like this voice of reason in the back of my mind. she always has the greatest advice and always knows the right thing to say at every moment. not to mention our shared love about homeboy luke bryan and country in general. she has a soul brighter than the sun and everyone who is lucky enough to know her has already realized that. she also writes amazing stuff (basically everything she writes) and it's gonna be even greater than she is right now one day. oh, and I also love her!

Save Him

Happy Birthday emmashero! I am sorry this is so late ugh I am horrible but I work way too much and then I kept tweaking this fic and I am still not happy with it but c'est la vie! I don't even know what this is...it's not at all plausible and it is really a random idea but it popped into my head and just wouldn't go away! It is somewhat angsty which I know you like plus one other important thing which is a surprise but I also know you'll probably like. Anyways ily and I hope your birthday was amazing! <3 <3!!!

It starts in her dreams the night she decides not to give up her magic. A woman appears, calling out to her. She is very beautiful with long dark curls and bright brown eyes that somehow send chills down Emma’s spine. Her entire face is filled with sadness and concern but her eyes burn into her and Emma runs because there is something not right about this woman, something other-worldly. She wakes up panting and her fingers crackling with magic. Emma takes a breath and the magic fizzles out instantly - relief that her newfound control hasn’t left floods through her before she instinctively reaches for her phone.

“Are you awake?”

It’s 4am...he is most definitely asleep. But still she waits for an hour before sleep pulls her in again. The woman doesn’t show up again that night and in the morning Emma dismisses it without much thought.

  The next time is during the day.

“Emma?” Elsa’s voice breaks Emma’s reverie and she quickly shifts her attention to her friend.

“I- I um” Emma glances out the window and sees the woman is gesturing her to come nearer.

“Here” says Emma, handing Whale over to Elsa and gesturing to the stroller which holds her baby brother, “Can you just watch him? Neal I mean not Whale..I just need to..check something” she mumbles before running out of the station.

Of course by the time Emma runs outside the woman has disappeared and Emma feels oddly disappointed. The first time she was frightened of her but this time she had felt a sense of urgency and helplessness radiating from her. Whoever she is, Emma can feel that she doesn’t want to hurt her - in fact she thinks the woman wants her help. However as she hears yells coming from down the street she reminds herself that others need her help now - more than an imaginary disappearing woman does.

  “Where are you? Are you okay?” Emma stares at the unanswered text she sent Killian that morning. She steps out of the car and tries to ignore the worry that is gnawing at her constantly. She really hopes that Mr. Gold was a step ahead (as he usually is) and avoided the Snow Queen’s curse. Elsa thought it was a good idea to try and get as much help as they could - turns out Will Scarlet wasn’t affected by the curse and it also turns out that he is wonderful with babies. Emma felt a bit strange leaving Neal with a thief she had met a few days ago so Elsa stayed back as well. Emma takes a deep breath, opens the door and approaches the back of the shop slowly.

“Things getting out of control out there, dearie?”

Emma turns to see Gold smiling at her smugly.

“Were you helping the Snow Queen with this?” she asks, her hand resting on her gun.

Gold scoffs and lifts both hands in surrender, “Easy there Miss Swan, I can promise you that this was not my doing.”

Emma relaxes slightly and looks him over quickly, “The spell didn’t affect you either?”

“While the spell didn’t affect you due to that lovely new band you are wearing - ”

Emma unconsciously pulls at the sleeve of her jacket to hide the yellow ribbon - she doesn't understand it and the fact that neither she nor Elsa can remove it does not bode well with her.

“My solution is rather less complicated; I’ve newly placed on this shop a number of barriers on it to prevent evil magic from getting in and so while I am here I am safe from the Snow Queen’s curse.”

“Can’t you help us figure this out?” Emma asks.

“Well that would require me leaving this shop to help you seek out the Snow Queen..and I don’t think you want me out there where I would be out of control, do you dearie?”

Emma shifts slightly, “Do you have something to help then? A spell or?”

“Afraid not” replies Gold, “That would require knowledge of the Snow Queen’s plan that I do not possess.”

“Fine” Emma turns to leave and then pauses and says, “You haven’t - Killian hasn’t -”

“Ah you’re afraid the curse may have made your pirate return to his old ways?”

Emma looks at him swiftly and Gold says, “Not to worry Miss Swan, I haven’t seen the captain - if I do you will be the first person I call.”

Emma nods and turns to leave but through the window of the door she sees her again.

This time she is more desperate and she appears to be yelling. Emma tries to read her lips to make out what she is saying but is interrupted by Gold, “Something wrong, Miss Swan?”

“No” says Emma, giving him a tight smile before leaving the shop quickly.

Mr. Gold steps forward and watches Emma leave from the window and then his gaze shifts to the woman with dark curly hair who is staring at him.

Unflinchingly Gold smirks and says, “Sorry, dearie.” The woman rushes at the window - disappearing at the last second and leaving the window with a deep crack in it.

  Emma is pulling into the sheriff station parking lot when her phone rings.

“Killian? Are you alright? Where are you?”

“I’m fine, love, don’t worry about me - how are you?”

“I’m okay but this town is going crazy - I …” Emma pauses, “Killian you’re not...have you had any strange feelings lately like maybe-”

“Like maybe wanting to skin a crocodile?” Killian finishes her thought for her, “No, lass, I have not. I know everyone seems to have fallen victim to this madness but luckily I have not.”

“But how?” Emma asks.

She swears he pauses a fraction too long before answering, “No idea, love. Your guess is as good as mine.”

Liar. She thinks. The pit of worry in her stomach deepens. She knows he wouldn’t lie to her unless he thought the truth was too dangerous and that thought worries her more than anything else has today.

“Fine” she replies, “Just...just meet me at the Sheriff’s station...please? I need …” she hesitates I need you she thinks but instead she finishes with, “help. Elsa and I need all the help we can get with you know...everything that is going on.”

“I’ll be right there, Swan” he replies, and hangs up quickly.

Hours later still no sign of the Snow Queen and with the curse still active more than half the town is locked up. Emma is exhausted. Killian has been helpful if perhaps a little distant but they have been too busy to talk. Elsa whispers to Emma to go talk to Killian outside and Emma doesn’t take much convincing. She briefly glances towards her office and sees Neal in Will’s arms curled up in the chair in her office - both of them sleeping soundly. She slips outside and walks toward Killian who is leaning against a street lamp and it is only now that Emma has a chance to really get a good look at him. Killian looks tired - really tired, and she also notices he seems on edge - she supposes with this curse that is natural but...something still feels off.

  “Are you okay?” she asks.

His whole body tenses and she hates that there is something wrong and he won’t tell her but another part of her is afraid to know.

“Killian...what is it?” she asks and tentatively reaches out and takes his hand. He sighs deeply and squeezes her hand, “Nothing” he says, giving her one of his grins - those stupid grins that usually make her heart flip over in her chest. But this time the smile isn’t real. She knows it and she knows that he can tell what she’s thinking. He tries again with, “It’s just been a long day, love. You must be even more tired than I am - perhaps you should get some sleep...come back in a few hours and -”

“No” says Emma firmly, and he turns to look at her, his face pleading with her to just agree, just don’t ask his face is telling her but she refuses.

“I’m not leaving until you tell me what’s wrong” she says, lifting her chin defiantly and locking eyes with him.

“Emma…” he says softly, “I can’t.”

“Why not?” asks Emma and she tries so hard not to feel hurt because she knows he isn’t telling her because he is worried - she can see it on his face.

“Killian whatever it is we can find a way to solve it - together like we always do.”

If anything his face just looks more pained, “Swan, everything’s fine I just -” Killian’s gaze locks on something behind Emma and his face turns pale. Emma turns around swiftly and steps back because the woman is here again - closer than ever before. She is gesturing to something behind … “That’s not possible” Killian’s voice comes out in a broken whisper and Emma looks at him quickly and then back to the woman. The woman is still mouthing something “Save…” Emma whispers, reading her lips “Save him? Save him…” Emma looks at Killian again. “Oh...oh.”

“Is … is she?” she asks Killian, not able to finish her sentence when she sees his face.

He swallows thickly, his blue eyes full of tears, “She’s my mother” he replies. The woman smiles - her smile is so sad.

“Killian why..” Emma pauses, “Why does she think I need to save you?”

Killian tears his gaze away from his mother for the first time and he looks utterly heartbroken, “Swan I…”

His mother places a hand on the left side of her chest and then points to Killian. Emma watches her and then freezes. “Killian…” she starts and when he steps back a little she pulls him close to her and places her hand on his chest. There’s nothing. No heartbeat. Emma’s face drops and Killian grabs her hand and holds it tightly.

“Why didn’t you tell me?” she whispers, she is dangerously close to tears and she knows it but how could this have happened how could he -

“Oh” she says, “Right...I suppose you couldn’t tell me?”

Killian gives a short nod and his face is a mixture of relief and worry.

“Who...wait-” Emma looks back at Killian’s mother and says, “Gold?” The woman nods furiously and points again to Killian’s chest.

“That son of a bitch”, says Emma, “I am going to - “ she stops because Killian has stepped forward and is reaching out to the woman. She is starting to fade a little and his hand goes through her like she is nothing but air and Emma’s heart twists painfully. She steps forward and takes his hand. She looks at his mother and says, “I will get his heart back - he will be fine, trust me...I’m not going to lose him.”

The woman smiles and reaches out to place a hand on Emma’s cheek - she almost feels it.

Then the woman turns to Killian and tears are falling down her face. She reaches up and touches his face and suddenly both Emma and Killian hear her. “I’m so proud of you, Killian.”

Her voice is foreign and far off sounding. She is fading even more now and it is hard to see her. She watches Killian, her face a mixture of joy and grief and slowly she fades into nothing.

  “What brought her spirit here?” Killian asks, his voice low.

“I don’t...I don’t know - she” Emma pauses, “She was in my dream last night and then all day today I’ve been seeing her. She was...she wanted me to save you.”

“Aye” says Killian, and his voice breaks a little. Emma pulls him towards her and their lips meet.  She kisses him softly and then pulls away, her forehead still resting against his and says, “Come on, let’s go.” Emma takes off towards her car and Killian follows her calling, “Wait! Swan, where?”

Emma turns to look at him, “To catch a crocodile.”

Emma and Killian travel back in time (again) and stumble upon a young Killian Jones on his own.

“Is that…?”

Emma gasps quietly as she spies a dark-haired little boy covered in a cloak, his blue eyes striking even through the dense foliage covering her.

“Me.”

Killian lowers his eyes, whether from embarrassment or shame, Emma isn’t quite sure. She takes his hand and laces their fingers together, smiling as he peeks up at her through his thick lashes.

“How old were you?” she asks gently, squeezing his hand.

“I don’t know, love,” he answers. “This was shortly before Liam found me. It was difficult to keep track of birthdays when you’re a lad on your own…”

Emma’s heart thuds painfully and she squeezes his hand tighter and wonders if he knows how old he is, even now. She turns back to the younger version of Killian and smiles as he shuffles between the stalls of the market, watching as two men make an exchange of goods.

“Swan, we really should be getting back – “

“Wait,” she insists. “I just want to see what – “

Killian flinches beside her as his younger self snatches a loaf of bread from a passing cart and starts sprinting away, darting between the throngs of people. He looks back when the owner of the cart shouts after him, fear painted in his eyes.

“I was hungry,” Killian hurriedly starts to explain the actions of the small boy. “I hadn’t eaten in some time, I was merely – “

Emma cuts him off with her lips pressed softly against his. She pulls away when she feels him begin to relax, the tension slipping from his shoulders. “Killian, it’s okay.” Tears well in her eyes as she looks at him. “I was the same way. I did the same thing when I was on my own too. I stole food, clothes, whatever I could. You feel ashamed of who you used to be, but I was the same. We are the same.”

The corners of her lips tilt up. “It’s like you said. There was always a little pirate in me.”

Slowly, Killian mirrors her grin. Their gazes meet and hold, and after what feels like an eternity staring into each other’s very souls, Emma tugs on his hand.

“Let’s go home.”
