It looks like Tris is going to have to be recast for Ascendant. Shailene said she’s out, as she did not sign up for a TV show. It wouldn’t surprise me if Theo and the others jumped ship as well. Hopefully, Taissa and Max are available and can provide some redemption :) I personally think if they’re going to do this, they should just start from the very beginning with a total do-over.
That’s a great idea, actually. Just starting over from the beginning, if they do it right.

The characterizations are fantastic and her main plot is tied in to others that you know are going to play bigger parts later. (I have a distinct memory of her telling me she thought she was terrible at writing but we all know that she was wrong, don't we?) We were talking with a healthy amount of sass and literally out of nowhere she says that I’m personally attacking her and flat out blocks me. (I’m not even gonna mention that she EXPLICITLY personally insulted ME.) I was enjoying the sass and she was entertaining to talk to so I was totally taken by surprise when she suddenly turned into a Bitchnado.
Here’s the shitty part. Why did THAT bother me? Oh, I don’t know maybe the fact that I made extreme efforts to apologize? I sent about 4 asks trying to explain, which I shouldn’t even have to. That’s when I found out she blocked me. So now I was starting to get pissed off. I sent a couple asks from other accounts... ALL BLOCKED. I posted something to try and get her attention... IGNORED. And she dares (in that earlier link) say that SHE DOUBTS I’LL APOLOGIZE? God that really “grinds my gears” as they say.
I gave up because I realized she’s really not worth it and just made the post for Amendment 2 which is basically just saying “Expect sass from me and don’t whine about it (unless you’re seriously bothered by it, in that case whine so I know to back off).”
This is an Amazing Person Award! Once you’re given this reward paste it in the ask of 8 people who, in your opinion, deserve it. If you break the chain, nothing will happen but it is nice to know someone thinks you’re amazing inside and out.❤

I was re-reading Patterns and Returning, and I got curious. Does Tobias’s hang up about Tris choosing him, stem solely from his shattered trust in her, in what she did in Allegiant, or does a little bit of it have to do with Evelyn? She didn’t choose him when she left him with Marcus: does that factor in at all? Is that why he can’t understand why Tris would choose Ben, because his own mother didn’t choose him? Or am I getting too deep into it lol?
no, no, you’re not reading into that too deeply. You have to remember Allegiant hadn’t come out when I wrote Patterns, so that didn’t factor into my writing at all. Tobias’ thing w/ Tris is entirely because of Evelyn and Marcus.
I know you said Coming to Terms would be the last snippet for AOS, but if you're feeling generous, could I make a humble request? Without revealing Eric's source yet, could we see his reaction to finding out that Amelia accepted Riley's proposal? He was calm when he saw Amelia afterwards, but we all know he lost his shit when he first found out. Pretty please :) ?
Oh man oh man. You know the rights things to say get me to reconsider my choices, don’t you? That reaction would be a lot of fun to write. SO MUCH FUN. Let me think about it and see what I can come up with.
Speaking of far fetched fics, I've realized one of my pet peeves about a few. Let me preface by saying that I don't like to criticize anyone else's ideas as I don't write myself, but there is a common trend I see: a lot are written as if it were today, instead of 200 years in the future. Social stigmas we have now, wouldn't exist then. Their social structure would also have more rigid rules, with very little freedoms. Just a random thought. I have more, but I can't fit it in an ask. 😊
