Making Good on a Promise || Emmeline and Alastor
Dear Emmeline,
It's been a few days since I last wrote you, and for that I'm sorry. I hope this letter finds you in good health.
So in my last series of letters, I promised to take you out for some real Chinese food. Well, I think it's about time I make good on that promise and take you out for some dim sum. So I'm enclosing a separate note with the address to my home. Once you look at it, you're going to be extended under the Fidelius charm my family has around the address. Strictly precaution, so I'm sorry bout that. Just have too many enemies who would love to get their hands on the address to the Moody residence.
Anyways, I managed to get off early today (I'm only working a nine hour shift. I know, everyone was shocked as well), so don't make any plans for dinner tonight. Come round about seven-ish?
See you then,
Alastor Aralt Conlan Dubhdaleithe Eagan Quinn Moody
what do you think of emmeline vance
I’m awkwardly fond of her.
Vancey/Caradoc
Name: Gawain Dearborn (His father decided to continue the tradition of naming children after Arthurian Legends)
Gender: Male.
General Appearance: Tall and lanky, like his father. He has ear-length brown hair that falls in waves, similar to his mother’s. He inherited the famous Dearborn cheekbones, leaving his mother pleased with her son’s bone structure. Gawain, however, wishes that it were more masculine. He has yet to discover a glamour to enhance his masculinity (he plans to invent one as a side project). Thankfully, he is capable of growing a nice beard, an ability he takes pride in. His father introduced him to kickboxing at a young age and, as a result, he has rather developed muscles, aiding him in gripping the broom during intense Quidditch matches (important, seeing as he’s a seeker for Ravenclaw).
Personality: Gawain is a reserved boy, inheriting his father’s more contemplative, shuttered personality. He is polite, and well liked by his professors, being first in every class apart from Herbology (he never understood the importance of learning about the properties of herbs). He has a charming smile, as his mother often reminds him, but he shows it rarely, opting for a more serious demeanour. Nevertheless, the ladies are enchanted by him, attracted to his seemingly mysterious air.
Special Talents: His intelligence is beyond any reproach. When he believes something is important enough for him to provide his opinion, he is extremely eloquent.
Who they like better: He loves his parents equally.
Who they take after more: Caradoc.
Personal Head canon: Nobody expected Gawain Dearborn to try out, let alone be accepted, onto Ravenclaw’s Quidditch team. The moment he stepped foot onto the pitch, whispers started floating around the stand. “Who is that?” “Gawain?” “I swear to Merlin I’ve never seen him leave the library!” As it is his nature to excel in nearly everything he attempts (again, the exception being Herbology), once he pushed off the ground and caught the snitch within the first five minutes of the trial, there was no doubt that he’d be named Seeker. He celebrated his success quietly, immediately Owling his parents to share the news. While he knew his mother would be excited, having always been a fan of Quidditch, he worried his father wouldn’t be as approving. Despite his father’s disinterest in the sport, he congratulated his son profusely, promising he would be there for every one of his Quidditch matches. Sure enough, since Gawain’s first match, father and son have bonded over the sport.
March 16th, 1979 | Emmeline and Edgar (At The Blood Bank)
Freedom felt good. After spending almost 48 hours being detained and questioned, not to mention incredibly confused about how he'd gotten into the situation in the first place, it was good to get out. Yet Edgar was still troubled by the whole situation. He had no idea what his part had been, and he shuddered to think about all the possible things that could have happened in those missing hours.
What if I could have done something? he found himself asking over and over again.
He was glad that Emmeline Vance had agreed to go to St Mungo's with him to donate blood and at the same time keep an eye out for anyone who might be seeking to tamper with any of it. This sort of thing was just what he needed; something to make him feel useful again, and not the guilt that he might have made a gigantic mistake that had cost someone their life. After having a hot shower to clear his mind and grabbing something to eat from Amelia's kitchen (it still felt weird to call it his kitchen, no matter how many times Amelia told him to make himself at home), Edgar left the apartment and went down an alleyway. He glanced around to make sure he was alone, and then disapparated.
Once he arrived at the hospital and made it through the charmed shop window entrance, Edgar was confronted with a packed foyer. It was always busy at St Mungo's, these days more than ever. Groups of wizards and witches lined up to check in to see their injured loved ones, while the line to donate blood was almost as long. That was good to see - at least there were still people around who had generous hearts. He was going to have a tough time spotting Emmeline in this crowd. They probably should have agreed on a definite spot the meet, and not just the hospital in general. The only thing he could think to do was to stick right near where the entrance was, and hopefully he would spot her.
After about five minutes of waiting, in which even more people managed to squeeze in, he saw her appear through the entry. "Hey, Vance!" He walked quickly up to her before she was swept over to the main desk with the other people. "Glad you made it in. It's so busy here, which I'm not sure is good or bad. We better keep our eyes open though, it's just asking for Death Eaters to turn up."

As Bellatrix had the mark branded upon her forearm, she finally truly understood what she had just signed up for. She had basically agreed to lay down her life for the man in front of her, if it helped the cause. And the idea terrified her for reason that though she knew her feelings were not romantic, she would do anything for the Dark Lord. Even overcome her fear of death for him, and such devotion shook her straight to the core. She would do it if he asked.
