if there is one person on this earth i would give my life for, it’s beth. i don’t really buy into the idea of soulmates even in a platonic way but i know they’ve gotta be mine. everything she writes? spectacular. everything they are as a person? even better. beth has the kindest heart and the most boundless imagination i’ve ever had the pleasure of knowing. i cannot express to you the joy that comes with worldbuilding with someone as talented as she is. there is no motley without beth. we have been each others constants since we were sixteen and i hope to be lucky enough to know them for the rest of my life. i’ll follow her anywhere and if you don’t you’re missing out <3 @emnesias / @priestbit

             ❝        —     izzat  any  way  to  greet  an  old  pal  ?      ❞           it’s  a  tepid  reception  at  best   ,   not  quite  the  cold  shoulder  but  hardly  the  welcome  wagon  she’d  been  anticipating  .     clearly  some  resentment  still  lingers   ,   and  perhaps  rightly  so      —      after  all   ,   she  had  left  @emnesias  high  and  dry  not  even  six  months  ago   ,   riding  off  into  the  sunset  with  her  pockets  lined  and  a  plane  ticket  already  booked  .        (     but    .  .  .    in  harley’s  defense   ,   she  did  send  him  a  postcard     )  .         cue  the  roll  of  baby  blues   ,   an  exasperated  huff  slipping  from  rouged  pout  .

               ❝        don’t  tell  me  you're  still  mad  !     c’mon   ,   that’s  all  in  the  past   ,   s’ancient  history  .     you  can’t  still  be  holdin’  a  grudge   ,   can  ya  ?      ❞           there’s  an  almost  whine  to  her  tone   ,   like  a  petulant  child  who  has  just  been  told  she  can’t  have  dessert  unless  she  finishes  her  vegetables  first  .        (     desperate  times    .  .  .    she  wouldn’t  be  here  if  she  didn’t  need  something    —      in  this  case   ,   it’s  information     )  .        eyes  are  drawn  wide   ,   lashes  fluttering   ,   as  she  fixes  him  with  her  best  puppy  dog  expression  .           ❝        you  know  y’wanna  forgive  me  .      ❞           whether  he  wants  to  or  not   ,   she’s  really  not  going  to  take  no  for  an  answer  .

it's rare man lets himself be distracted from job at hand . but burden felt heavy upon broad shoulders and the gentle hum of the bar seemed a necessary intrusion into preoccupied mind . tired eyes of blue survey their surroundings , taking in whatever detail seemed interesting . gaze falls upon man he felt almost flushed to look at , and eyes stay on him for perhaps just a little too long . i don't have time for that , mind repeated over and over , like a chanted mantra .

but to feel , pleaded heart .

a deep breath , moment of courage needed as he pushes himself off barstool and wandered over to @emnesias' side , rusty being an understatement . " can i , uh. . . can i buy you a drink ? "

the floral arrangement had caught him terribly off guard —— a gift entirely unexpected. not that he'd expected anything at all ; and it's only as the bouquet is passed in his direction , offered out towards him until his own hand grasp bundled stems , that he even remembers what day of the week it was. ( he hadn't entirely forgotten the holiday. ) no , it was impossible to do so with constant reminders at every corner he turned. the entire world seemed to love making such a big deal out of the money spending tooth rotting month , more than the actual act of love itself [ ... ] but this must be how affection deprived girls feel when receiving a kind gesture every once in a blue moon.

hand pulls the colorful display towards him as a laugh escapes his throat —— gaze looking away almost bashfully before deciding to really look at it. noting the subtle scent that would only become stronger the closer he brought it. ❛❛ did you buy 'em like that or pick 'em out? ❜❜ he'll glance back towards james and offer a small but crooked smirk , hoping it covers the embarrassment without much betrayal. ❛❛ i uh , i've never gotten flowers before. i dunno what t'do with 'em. ❜❜

it seemed the least he could do , in retrospect . james was working so incredibly hard to please him , asher happily led in his pleasure as james rises and falls on his member . one hand rests behind his head , comfortable and relaxed letting other dictate depth and pace . but he can’t resist wanting to ensure other felt as much pleasure as he could , so free hand shifts to circle around james’ hard member , allowing other’s movements to dictate up and down motion . “ you’re so good at that , baby. ” scottish drawl heavy as he focuses more on pleasure than articulation . “ you look so pretty like this . ”

@emnesias asked: both hands cradle samael's face, and james knocks their foreheads together. "you're a wonderful, wonderful, man. you know that don't you?" james asks, stealing a slow, passionate kiss from samael's lips with a hum. "my wonderful sweetheart," he coos, "you're the best man i know..."

             There's an  ACHE  in Samael's heart as he soaks in James' warmth, his honeyed praise. Samael doesn't think he's worthy of such adoration     ——    that what James says can't possibly be true. The rockstar wants to protest, to lament about how rotten he truly is, that no one should waste such pretty words on someone like him. Instead, he smiles, and though the moment is horribly bittersweet, Samael can pretend for a second that he's worth James' love.      ❛❛   I don't deserve you.   ❜❜     He murmurs, hating the burning in his eyes because he knows he's about to start crying. So, he wraps his arms around James and buries his face against his neck.      ❛❛   ... Thank you.   ❜❜

              Samael strums his guitar and hums before scribbling something down in an open notebook, frowning to himself as he taps his lips with the end of his pen. His eyes then flicker up to meet James'.     ❛❛   Take a picture, it'll last longer.   ❜❜     He coos, lips pulling into a grin as the musician abandons his guitar, setting it carefully in his seat as he stands. A groan pulls from him as he stretches his arms above his head.     ❛❛   Let's go get some... Ice cream, or something... I could use a break. And something sweet...   ❜❜     He steps closer to the other man and smirks as he reaches out to gently pinch James' cheek.     ❛❛   ... Something besides you.   ❜❜ @emnesias
