i dont understand what happened to ryan ross? why ppl hate him?
ryan ross has undoubtedly done some dubious and shitty stuff in the past, but what most people in the bandom hate him for is making transphobic comments a few years ago. those comments were in a text to shane morris and were basically a derogatory joke/comment about a trans woman—it was really gross, and totally unnecessary, and honestly shameful, and he should have apologized. there’s never an excuse for that kind of ignorance.
that being said, ryan ross hasn’t done or said anything like that for a few years, and i think that using comments he made years ago to justify him not getting help for addiction is really gross and horrible
