A Long Time Apart

Liam wished things could’ve been different if he had to be completely honest. If it was his choice, he wouldn’t have had to leave at all. If he had to change something it would be to find a better way to say goodbye but he didn’t get that chance. Once the war started in his home dimension, Liam had to leave asap. And all he was able to leave Steven was one of his yellow feathers to keep as a reminder of him.
For him, it has been just over a thousand years. Time ran faster there than it did in the mortal world as here it had just been over 5. His phone had to be turned off and turned in to other officials when he enlisted so any messages he was sent during that time he didn’t get until after he had made it back to Beach City and turned it on. It wasn’t long though before the texts began flying in. Message after Message from quite a few people but most of them from one particular person.
A smile spread on his face as he read over the messages from Steven, there were just so many. It was sweet but it also made him a bit sad. He know he left the other waiting for a response for a very long time without knowing if the angel was even alive or not. He didn’t even remember if he told Steven why he was leaving in the first place but he did want to notify him somehow. That’s when he got the wonderful idea, he would go back to the Garden. It was their spot before he left and he hoped it still could be now that he was back.
