2nd June 2023: Lakeside evening walk and bits at home
Pictures taken in this set: 1. Gorgeous lesser stitchwort alongside grass vetchling, stunning flowers to see in the meadows. 2. Dock, some of my first of the year seen on the walk, it was great to see this sturdy and distinctive flower which is a great one to see over the summer months in a very strong day of flowers. 3. Orchid, I believe a southern marsh orchid I possibly saw a few of these which I was thrilled at. 4. Dog rose in the strong evening sunshine. 5, 6, 8 and 9. Views on a gorgeous evening. 7. A delightful and vibrant but fairly worn Small Copper which I was very happy to see, a lovely connected natural moment. 10. A beautiful Blue Tit on the balcony the shot looking up from the garden as I got in, I’ve seen one visiting the balcony feeders alongside other birds a lot lately.
I was very happy to see my first dazzling and large Emperor dragonfly of the year in the bowl area tonight, one I had hoped to see soon and it was a treat. Whitethroat, Speckled Wood, loads more oxeye daisies there are seas of them currently, vetch including some lovely white ones, my first bird or tufted vetch of the year, broad-leaved and white clover key species across today and smashing bits of sorrel in the meadows too were other highlights this evening. I liked seeing poppy and cornflower at the flower bed area again today.
