Trick or Treat!
Treat! #TeaLizard
As the Mom of quite the bunch of kids herself, how do you think Asha would get along with Soontir and Syal Fel? Would her kids get along with their six?
Oh, it's been so long since I've read anything Legends, but likely so! Asha's fairly amiable, I like to think, provided no one severely pisses her off. I admit, I can't remember the Fels too well, but when away from the Imperial court, Asha likes to make honest connections with people, especially people Thrawn trusts (because then she trusts them). So I'd like to think she'd get a long great with them. At least she and Syal would bond over pregnancies and motherhood, I think.
If there were, say, all in something like The Empire of the Hand, I imagine the children would see a lot of each other. And Asha loves children, so I could see her in the kitchen, counting heads as she makes snacks for all the kids running around her place, whether they're Chiss, Twi'lek, human, or some combination of any of those, lol. Or other, idk, she wouldn't question it. Random Mon Cal kid rolls up? They're getting hugs and food, too, lol. So adding the Fel kids into the mix? Asha wouldn't bat an eye.
What little I have of Asha's children, well, I can imagine there would be close bonds, but perhaps not always easy ones. Aden, the eldest, is very broody, and the second eldest, Azar, is competitive af. They butt heads with each other and probably any of them more strong willed Fel kids. Ariellis, the eldest daughter, is a bit stuck-up, I'd love to see her get humbled by one of the other Fel kids. She needs it. Thistle/Istlet is down for A D V E N T U R E so if any of the Fel kids wanna explore, she's the one who'd drag THEM around. Elrin and Erisse are quieter, more delicate, especially Elrin, and would prefer the more bookish Fel kids.
Un'hee I see a little more separate from all of them, not having grown up with them. A little more aloof, still haunted by her own past. Quiet. But, at the same time, she loves all of them just the same. They are her family.
Idk, this was a hard one 🤔

In no particular order~
1. My family ^_^ being stuck inside has helped me have more time to spend with them that live in my house as well. Yesterday we watched Stardust :3 I still hope I can visit my other family again soon though.
2. Talking to my friends online, it’s made being stuck in my house more bearable :)
3. Though nothing’s materialised in a while…FMA’s still inspiring me to write new things, and maybe draw (I lost my tablet pen for a little while, but I found it now) eventually. Answering asks totally counts anyway :3c
4. Reading! Though, my Baccano books are still languishing from the last time I got this ask meme thing… I promised myself I’d read them all once my new merch and bookmark arrived, but it’s still not here yet >_> I have so much things to read, including an artbook, but it’s not an anime or anything so I don’t know if I’ll post anything about it on here.
5. I’m learning a new musical instrument, so that’s mildly amusing every now and then.

“What do you think, Gluttony?”
A strange man’s face smiled Envy’s smile, and Gluttony frowned. “You look creepy.”
The man scowled, and suddenly Envy was back. “C’mon, Gluttony; give me some good feedback! ‘Creepy’ isn’t specific enough.”
“I just like your real face better.” It was hard to explain more than that. Envy’s real face was safe, just like Lust’s face. But that wouldn’t answer Envy’s question the way that they wanted.

For the Fanfic Meme. Will PM you the passage from "Summer Daze"
Thanks for the ask! :)
This is from the third scene in my fic Summer Daze , when Envy turns into an aquatic creature to be able to swim.
"You know, Envy," Lust shouted across the water, standing up, Gluttony now bobbing happily along by himself, "this is Yock Island. It's completely deserted. Staying here probably requires a certain amount of…" Her hand grasped the air with her rambling. "…Yock-ness…Yes." She gave him a look despite the distance; their circumspect glances conveyed her exasperation well enough. "Why not show us something amazing?"
I changed a bit of the dialogue from when it appeared as a memory in chapter 2 of Birds of a Feather, because it was so long ago Pride probably misremembers it a little in his head.
"Do your best, Envy!"
I wanted all three of his siblings to encourage him in their own way, because he really needs it. Also I figured because Envy is so molecularly dense for his size, he would have trouble swimming.
By the way, in Japanese they call the Loch Ness Monster just ‘Nessie’, so I thought maybe the Monster could still be called Nessie, but have a different full name, and hey, Lake Kauroy and Yock Island was right there. Plus I love the silliness of it being named after its level of ‘Yock-ness’. It’s possible that someone actually heard them shouting Yock-Ness when they spotted Envy, and it just stuck.
Very well. Humouring all his younger siblings, and with a flicker of curiosity, Pride's shadows slackened, receding from his brother.
Envy sparked and sank, the silent crackling spot of him fading to a scarlet speck. Pride's long, slender arms swirled under his casing, waiting for his brother to re-emerge, probably as a trout or something. He could congratulate him on successful swimming, and maybe hang him up like one of those Xingese flags.
Though this is before Pride’s minor Xingese-obsession towards the end of the 1800s, he has likely still seen the Koinobori at some point due to the importing of tea and other items from Xing. As the legend is also about a koi that swam up a waterfall and became a dragon, Pride isn’t actually too far off in his musings.
Something brushed fleetingly against his dark fingers, beneath his notice, until the something smashed into his container, lifting him up, and up, and the shadows oozing from his heels dangled either side of a green snout like ridiculous whiskers. Laying flat on his belly, he saw only Envy's mismatched eyes, and the vibrant red triangle of his nodes. "This suiting enough?" Rumbled his brother in the deep timbre of his True Form, though no tortured moans followed it. At least he had the sense to keep those from his transformation. Pride drew his own true self into his container completely as he knelt up, clambering between Envy's eyes and steadying himself on his… new horns. So far so good, they weren't sinking, yet. "Hm, adequate, but something's missing…" Gazing past the horns, Pride appraised Envy's new aquatic form. His green scales seemed more vibrant than usual, bordering on olivine, trailing down a long, speckled neck and a broad but graceful body decorated with some spiny ridges over his back. Eight strong flippers slapped against the surface, moving in a constant rhythm, the tip of his tail peeking out the water a good ten feet away from its base. Had Envy been inspired by those ancient – and nameless – bones in Central Museum? How interesting. Still, he lacked-- something compared to his usual form, that trait which connected them, Gluttony excepting.
I think Envy would choose an aquatic reptile like the plesiosaurus to be able to keep a lot of his True Form’s features. I was also inspired by Haku from Spirited Away a little, too (hence the whole underwater section later in the scene), which accounts for the horns.
"Something…" The darkness spilled again and slipped over Envy's bare scalp, much like the hideous clumps that made up his True Form's hair, but the watery tendrils of his shadow made it beautiful by the association, "like this. There, now you are yourself again."
And of course, I wanted to highlight Pride’s vanity. Even if he thinks Envy’s True Form’s hair is ugly, if it’s him imitating them, then they’re just perfect and lovely. However, as shown in the previous paragraph, Pride considers their black hair a defining feature that most of them share, so it could be seen as him wanting Envy’s aquatic form to share that too. Envy would have made it have hair at some point anyway, but I’m sure Pride would take the credit for ‘inspiring’ him. That’s likely why he was mad and ended up diving, to try and dislodge Pride and let him make the hair himself.

Send me a character and a number for a headcanon. 13. Nickname headcanon for Pride and Lust
Send me a character and a number
Nickname headcanon
Though they don’t have proper nicknames for each other, they do have different ways of referring to each other when they’re alone together.
As Pride is her older brother, Lust almost always calls him Onii-sama (お兄様) in the same way she calls Father Otou-sama (お父様). Though she refers to Pride by name when talking to her other siblings, she generally only calls him Pride when they’re alone.
Pride is the opposite. Older siblings generally only use the names of their younger siblings, but sometimes he enjoys highlighting their closeness, calling her sister (imouto, 妹), with some variations like dear sister or sister mine. Though he might call Greed and the others little brother sometimes, when they’re getting along or when he’s teasing them, they don’t get the add-ons.
Once they became a couple how they refer to each other didn’t change much, but eventually they might chance something more lovey dovey, after a few decades, like ‘my love’. It’s cliché but it’s sweet. It might have taken a long time, but at least they got to express how they felt.
For the fanfic commentary ask, from "The Dark In Need of Light" - 05. Gluttony. From "Oh dear, my aim was off" to " "Perfect." She seemed slightly out of breath."
Thanks for the ask! This fic was a while ago, but I think I remembered enough stuff :)
This segment comes from the fifth scene in The Dark in Need of Light. Pride lets himself get ‘kidnapped’ and Lust comes to help him when things go awry.
"Oh dear, my aim was off. I’d better fix that-" Lust set her lantern down, extending her claws once more.
“Wait. We could-” His shadow wrapped over the human’s mouth and limbs, what he had neglected to do. Regrettably the human might make too much noise, so it was necessary. “Make the most of it.”
Now, from earlier in the scene it’s made obvious that Pride was luring out the human to kidnap him as a means of getting someone to kill out of boredom. He’s been stuck in his current human disguise for a while and if he sneaks out at night and eats someone it’s no big deal. However, the heavy clouds and so the lack of moonlight has ruined his plans, and his little sister has come along and ‘saved' him. She’s about to take his kill from him by finishing him off and Pride can’t have that happening. At the same time, though, Lust has brought the only decent light source with her, so he can’t exactly tell her to leave, either. The fact that Lust puts the lantern down though means she is no longer in complete control of the light source, and besides, she gotta use both hands if it’s gonna be any fun.
I chose Pride’s words carefully, though, because he tries to hide his bloodlust from his siblings. He wants to appear very efficient and aloof, to show his superiority over them, so he phrases it in a way that is making it seem like he is indulging his younger sibling by inviting her to take her time. I had Pride wrap the human up because he wants to feel the human’s suffering even while Lust is taking her fill, while to Lust it will look like he’s holding him still and quiet for her.
Lust blinked, startled, but it soon passed, and her painted lips twisted into a smirk, teeth glinting in the light.
“Let’s.”
Lust was bloodlust, too, naturally.
Though Lust has been living with Pride as his governess the past few months (though had left the position a few weeks before), she’s still surprised at the offer, because of how he used to scold her for killing people who could be of use. Though the human already knew too much and she was in the middle of hunting him down when she ran into Pride, the idea of him not getting rid of him as efficiently as possible intrigues her. She possibly sees that Pride was not luring the human for purely practical reasons – he did not even seem aware of who he was – and is happy to oblige her brother.
The blood flowed, their darkness intertwined, and Pride watched her vicious swipes with a pointed smirk of his own. He made his own little cuts too, enjoying the flood of warmth over his dark fingers, but it wasn’t enough. This was not what he was here for, so he let Lust take her fill first. The human bucked and shrieked around his shadow bindings until Lust made good on her promise and punctured his other lung, and he went quiet and still. Pride didn't care if he was still alive; the result would be the same. The human did not deserve to live on inside him in any case.
I like to convey the idea that Pride’s shadow, for all its benefits, does not experience things as clearly as his container. In the Tunnel, being so far from his container, the noises he hears are slightly indistinct, echoing as little, and the things he sees are often bleary despite his many eyes. However, physical contact heightens his senses, but because Pride has spent so long alone and hating to be close to anyone, he instead thinks his True Form can only experience things fully when he is killing and devouring things.
As he was planning on killing the human alone, he does get a little impatient and doesn’t let Lust have all the fun, though his minor cuts probably did nothing in the scheme of things.
The concept of Pride’s idea of the ‘darkness’ pops up here. Though Pride is the only of Father’s children to be formed from shadows as he was, out of vanity he refers to things Lust possesses that are similar to himself, like her sharp Lances and her eyes as the ‘darkness’ that they share.
“Elegant and deadly as always, Lust. Well done.”
“I can’t take all the credit. I had a good teacher.” She stepped back, deferring to her elder sibling. “Now show me how it’s done, big brother.”
Lust butters him up as a means of thanking him for letting her indulge a little, but she didn’t go all out on purpose. Like he invited her to make the most of the opportunity, she does the same, partly because she knows he must have wanted to kill the human all along if he let himself get captured, and partly because she wants to see his true blood thirst.
His weary, sluggish shadows slithered closer, teeth spreading along like a stain. They bit down. Instantly the euphoria shot through it, and its jaw snapped shut like a trap, eyes wide. His tendrils sharpened into his favoured blades, plunging in, his small clawed hands raked angry gouges through his flesh, just like Lust’s nails. Pride began tearing off the human’s limbs with far more enthusiasm. He needed this, shredding through their pathetic flesh, crunching their bones, squeezing out and gulping down their blood, the only thing that brought feeling to his cold darkness.
It has been a while since Pride killed someone, so I wanted to convey the instant difference in how Pride feels, so much that he loses control of himself for a moment, even letting his internal shadows affect his container.
The shadows shuddered in their ecstasy, so hard his container shook despite himself. Lust saw, head tilted, a finger next to her mouth, enthralled, or curious almost. Her hair slipped slowly over her shoulder in soft, silent waves.
I wanted to highlight Pride’s sharpened senses by the fact that - despite the state he’s in, and the fact that for a moment he forgot Lust was there – when he does notice her she captures his attention so fully, even just the silent movement of her hair while she watches him. Out of her respect for him, I also wanted to show that Lust does not let her own Sin get in the way and she holds back. In that way she mirrors the more distant way Pride would observe her on their missions when she was young, so the situations have been reversed; rather than impulsive Lust it is Pride who is indulging too deeply.
Usually when he accompanied his siblings he kept his container curled in a corner, and himself reserved, out of sight, merely observing, or if they indulged in killing humans together it was a calm, methodical indulgence, for he was so much older, better than them. But now…
Pride let her see. He swallowed down the rest of the human’s body.
Pride’s siblings might have seen him eat humans before, but he never displayed how much he enjoyed it, or that his shadow often cannot feel as vividly as they do. In the same way that Pride was vulnerable in complete darkness, before Lust attacked the human and brought the lantern to him, he now allows Lust to see him being less than his usual indifferent self, relishing in eating the human.
“Perfect.” She seemed slightly out of breath.
It’s no secret that Lust loves killing humans, and she is delighted that her older brother – who she has always suspected enjoys killing as much as she – is just like her. They share so much in their friendship, so she feels even more connected to him. It’s thrilling enough that she wasn’t able to fully catch her breath from earlier.
This is the moment that Lust either fell in love, or realised she was in love. In different circumstances I’m sure she might have made that much clearer to Pride, had he not changed the subject to make them focus again on their work :)
