like….. robot/android/whatever characters being...
I don’t follow you, I saw this in the actuallyautistic tag, but suddenly I am question whether my feeling like a robot who makes algorithms to imitate humans is because that’s actually accurate or because I internalized societal stereotypes…
this is why i said it wasnt inherently bad. an autistic person thinking of their own personal understandings and stuff this way is fine, it’s more that i’m against the reasoning a lot of allistics have in headcanoning or creating autistic characters or associating autism with robotics in general
9 times out of 10 with autistic robots made and/or headcanoned by allistics it’s:
“well they’re inhuman!”
“they don’t feel correctly, like normal humans do”
“they’re empty inhuman entities who can’t feel and yearn to fill the emptiness that is their own existence because they aren’t normal or feeling”
i could go on with more honestly but these are the more common ones
anywho it’s more to do with context and general oppression of autistic ppl
there’s a difference between autistic ppl feeling this way because they understand and generally have good reason for applying robotics and stuff to their personal actions and mannerisms, or even applying this to favorite characters
while, generally, allistics tend to apply autism to robotics in the way to express that they see us as unfeeling and inhuman and cold and calculating. they see autism in a bad way, a negative way, a thing that makes someone devoid of humanity, etc
i hope i explained well. im lacking energy and am very tired. apologies if i say things wrong
