‘     IT  IS  YOU  AND  SIGURD  WHO  WANTED  TO  AIM  FOR  THE  LONG  GAME  TO  AVENGE  MOTHER’S  DEATH—     ’     &     though  sigurd  is  no  longer  with  them     &     may  have  received  the  honor  to  feast  with  their  father  in  the  halls  of  valhalla    (  for  he  fought  to  avenge  ragnar’s  death,  )     it  is  him  and  ubbe  who  did  not  want  to  rush  into  a  war  with  the  new  queen  of  kattegat.  it  might  not  meet  ivar’s  compulsive  nature  in  which  his  hatred  leads  to  rash  decisions     &     impaired  judgement,  but  as  long  as  he  must  not  make  a  compromise  regarding  the  result  (  lagertha’s  death,  )  he  is  willing  to  listen.  to  plot  their  revenge     &     to  create  a  foundation  to  work  with.  turns  out  the  saxons  played  along  beautifully  by  humiliating  both  sons  of  ragnar.     (  it  has  been  a  little  surprising  to  ivar,  but  makes  it  even  more  believable.  )     ‘     this  is  the  only  way.  no  one  will  question  whether  or  not  we  truly  have  fallen  out.  even  hvitserk  believes  it  after  all.  if  you  two  and  a  few  other  men  sail  back  to  kattegat  now,  she  will  not  inflict  any  harm  on  you  nor  consider  you  her  enemy.     ’     even  less  with  ubbe  who  has  always  been  driven  by  responsibility  and  who  seems  to  resemble  a  younger  version  of  their  father.  upon  watching  his  older  brother,  ivar’s  nose  wrinkles     &     he  presses  his  lips  together  in  a  slight  grimace  for  he  can  admit  it  is  still  a  dangerous  game  they  are  about  to  play     —     no  matter  how  hard  he  has  tried  to  consider  all  what  -  ifs     &     to  conclude  the  best  possible  strategy.     EVEN  THE  WISEST  PERSON  CAN  NOT  FORETELL  THE  FUTURE  IF  THEY  DO  NOT  HAVE  THE  SEEING  GIFT.     ivar  is  confident,  however,  that  they  will  figure  it  out,  together.     ‘     if  she  does  not  fall  on  the  battlefield  when  i  return  to  kattegat  to  conquer  it,  i  need  you  to  make  sure  we  will  not  lose  track  of  her.  i  need  you  to  keep  her  close,  no  matter  for  how  long.     ’

Hvitserk had always been closest to Ubbe.  He didn’t know, if it was that they were so close in age, but they were always close.  He knew that things were going to get crazy. They were going to England to avenge their father, the father who’d abandoned them for years. But, it was what needed to be done. They were the sons of Ragnar Lothbrok, and he was to be avenged. Ooin had come to them himself, but Hvitserk felt a little uneasy.  Bjorn and Ivar were already fighting over who should be in charge.  He agreed with Bjorn. He was the oldest.  But, Ivar could be unreasonable.  

He went looking for his brother, before he found him, eventually.  He moved to sit down, and looked over at Ubbe.

“What do you think? Who’s right, Ivar or Bjorn? This feels like another thing Father should have decided, that he didn’t.

          She instantly regretted her words, because being angry at him wouldn’t help solve the mystery nor did she want him to go away, quite the opposite. Since the moment she had landed eyes on him, she knew he was him. However she also figured out quickly he couldn’t be him. That was mathematically impossible, but... he looked like him so much despite his name & the new clothes & hair...      “ No no...”      she was standing by the door, then opened it wide for him to enter, as she shook her head in the negative.  Her apartment was a mess, & right above her flower shop, plus she didn’t expect anyone to come over for a visit. Awkwardly pushing things here & there, throwing a pair of underwear in the washer, she gestured towards the couch for him to take a seat,      “ Sorry, do you... want a drink or something ? ”

          “ That is the best advice your father gave you to fight ? ”     A smirk rose upon her lips, as she twirled expertly a wooden sword in her hand, then toyed it around the young Ubbe. They we’re going to their first raid, with his brother Hvitserk, joining their father as well in order to conquer their uncle Rollo in frankia. Lagertha perfectly knew they wouldn’t go in battlefields but they’d gotten their arm rings lately, they needed to know what it was like. The pre adolescent had found Lagertha, sitting by the shore, with a sword toy & asked her to train him. He knew for a fact that his fathers ex wife was almost legendary, Lagertha, Jarl Ingstad & famous Shieldmaiden. She didn’t need Ragnar Lothbrok to her herself a name or a title. 

She let the boy charge her, but it was predictable enough for her to block him easily, “Tame your fear, keep it close, then unleash it. ”      She said, pushing him back with her shield until he fell upon his butt harmlessly.      “ Get up, again. ”

      TO HIS WORDS, ARIËN FELT THE NEED TO GLANCE TOWARDS HIM AND IT WAS FASCINATING to her how the brightness of her eyes did not affect him, nor the warmth of her touch since for everyone else it was almost impossible to look her in the eyes for longer than seconds. her touch would burn anyone therefore she always refrained to do so, the lack of physical affection towards her entire existence was rather evident but the compliments were not. many were received by the maiden of the sun, but none of them truly meant more than the words apollo spoke to her. there was a rather shy smile growing in her pink lips, eyes analyzing his features with such fondness in them she was not aware of her smitten features. ever since they found one another it felt as if a missing piece had been restored, the feeling that she truly belonged with someone settling in within her heart and as she allowed his melodious voice to fill her ears, the smile grew as her eyes analyzed his features. 

        SO FAIR WAS HE, SO KIND OF HEART AND GENTLE TOWARDS HER which was something that she was not used to ever since she was taken away from her home, stripped away from her light and her warmth, the soul who habituated this vessel almost leaving for it’s weakness was far too great to endure. and yet... here she was. feeling happiness as never once she felt before, for now she was where she belonged with whom she wished to be. unable to remove her gaze from him for far too long, ariën lowered her gaze and then returned it to him once more.
