hii! i was just wondering, what was ur opinion on skam season 4? i know that ur muslim and i wanted to get ur opinion on it, i literally just started watching the show cuz of sana and i have only watched her season and idk i love her so much
hello! first im gonna say that u should absolutely watch the other seasons, they’re amazing and definitely better than s4
that being said, i gotta admit that i had really high hopes for s4 and maybe i shouldn’t have. s3 was so so fuckign good and the show just got better and better each season so i figured, hey this season is about a muslim lead the trailer looks amazing there’s a whole load of potential. i was wrong. this season has opened up like 20 different new subplots, some of them in just the last episode/clip, and honestly? thats sloppy. these stories don’t focus on sana, they arent helping her grow in any way and all the “”parallels“” between her and isak’s season just seem like julie’s bored with sana’s story and didn’t plan it properly. i mean, she did the whole 21:21 thing for isak many many times (and thats such a minute little detail) but she couldn’t be bothered to properly show the beginning of ramadan (which is a huge huge deal for any practicing muslim - which sana clearly is). everything just seems lazy and careless
and the whole love triangle thing is so old. noora doesn’t know sana likes yousef, yousef knows he likes her and she likes him, yousef still kisses noora, sana gets mad at noora and shuts her out but begrudgingly smiles at yousef and lets him get away with his bullshit. its like,,, whats teh point? why give her a love interest that isn’t going anywhere? thats just goint to isolate her? it was interesting when yousef said he isn’t muslim bc thats something neither us or sana saw coming, but julie ruined it by shoving noora into it. noora has gotten more than her fair share of screen time @julie its time to let her go i know u love her a lot but its time cmon lets go
and vilde. oh my god vilde is being such an asshole about things that seem trivial but they’re actually a big deal and she needs to fucking grow up and realize that sana has been nothing but a good friend to her and vilde is just being a bitch in return.
the balloon squad stuff and even’s bipolar is something that just ticks me off. i thought even would be a bigger part of the season that we’d get to learn more about his mental illness and get some rep but i guess not. the balloon squad is demonized all teh time (the fight, the 72 virgins, etc) and its all terrible.
there’s a couple episodes left and i hope some of this mess gets cleaned up but idk how it’ll happen its just too much to do to fast
