This is a post that's been a long time in coming, and it's both for a reason, and for no reason at all.
My friends that i've made through the Bakura/YGO fandom here on tumblr have been a huge, huge blessing for me. I know that I'm one of those people that is sometimes all business, or all hyperfocus on one thing, and maybe sometimes you don't feel how much I care about all of you. But I do, and you've been a huge part of my life for the past four years.
Good friends are people you can mix ideas with. When you're passionate about a concept or a character like Bakura, it takes on a tinge of cult-ish personal religiousness that oftentimes either splits people away from each other hard, or brings them close together like family. I've had the good fortune to meet my comrades-in-arms in Bakurafandom through this blog, even if we don't talk every day, it seems like coming home when we do.
I've had bad experiences too, but in a way, I can't even be really angry at those people. They have their own Bakura-religious-experience that doesn't mesh with mine, and are protective of it, and I understand. Happy voyages to you guys, if you're reading. I mean it. I've got my people, and you've got yours, and this is a big, big ocean.
Thank you to my friends, my crew mates, all the sweet bakus I've met at cons just the once, everyone who has ever sent me a letter or a drawing, anyone who thought to send me a note telling me something good. You're all wonderful. Let's sail to freedom. <3
