There's something so hilarious about reading Encanto fics where the writers clearly have no idea how long embroidery/sewing actually takes. Absolutely no hate meant but I crack up(then cry to myself because I wish) whenever there's something like ‘oh I have to start this last minute suit from scratch’ and it's done in one afternoon; perfectly fitted and embroidered with intricate details. Just… honey no.
For reference I did some of the details on Mirabel’s dress today to give you an idea of time:
^ Took me an 1hour and 5 minutes
^ Took me 1 hour and 15 minutes
The rest took 3 hours and 40 minutes!
Thats 6 hours of work!!!
Time can vary on what sort of stitches you do but it looks to me like Mirabel uses pretty complicated ones while I mostly stuck to simple ones to save time. All in all embroidery takes a hell of a lot longer than you think(and hope) it will.
