The Starklings Are Genii, In Case You Forgot
Robb: Actual tactical genius, militarily speaking. It is COMICAL how many things had to happen in order for the Starks to lose. It is not NEARLY as simple as “Robb Stark fucked the wrong girl and look what happened”. Renly v. Stannis should receive the vast majority of the blame for the Starks losing the war, in my opinion.
Jon: Not necessarily a tactical genius, but he’s certainly politically savvy, giving On Point advice to Stannis about lords he’s never met, arranging a marriage that keeps the peace between warring factions and saves a friend in one fell swoop, he’s DAMN good at being a spy, and he’s a visionary leader with some of the most radical thinking of any character in the series.
Sansa: Shaping up to be a legit political mastermind, with strong emotional intelligence, as well as an uncannily encyclopedic knowledge of Westerosi houses, families, loyalties, and factions.
Arya: Keenly perceptive and a fantastic judge of character who understands unspoken realities, speaker of seven (SEVEN) languages by the age of eleven (ELEVEN!!!!) a natural leader and actor, and a POWERFUL warg/skinchanger.
Bran: While he doesn’t get to do much and is still like, nine, he’s proved himself to be just as politically savvy as Jon (though not quite on par with the privately tutored Sansa) with a vast library of stories, an uncannily good judge of character, Bloodraven’s chosen heir, and both a skinchanger and a greenseer.
Rickon: He doesn’t need to be a genius, he’s five, and anyway we’re gonna find out how smart he is via Davos in TWOW.
