Seriously, though. The Missing Series is pretty great with interesting villains and one heck of a developing mystery. The OCs and their quirks and motivations are well constructed, and I really enjoy Krow (obviously), Flashlight, Ai, and Funai. That doesn't touch on the villains, who I'm not going to name here because I wouldn't dare deprive you of the opportunity to meet them yourself. XD

But seriously. Give it a shot, and while you're there, please wish the author a happy birthday! *^_^*

Q: OOF you be looking for the tea, huh? 😂😂😂 I don’t know if I’ve truly abandoned any ships but I’ve drifted away from some just. Due to fixating on new ones lmfao. Bbrae will always have my heart but lack of content and the draw of new fandoms kinda drew me away from being active with it. And allurance which I loved dearly,,, VLD killed off Allura and broke my heart, so 🙃

R: okay listen hear me out— Aoyama/tokoyami. There’s like maybe one or two artists that draw for them (AND ITS AMAZING GOD) and their dynamic??? Is so entertaining??? But they are Super Rarepair which is a travesty

S: oh hmmmm…. I don’t know that I have any unique ones,,, probably my favorite is that Kirishima and Bakugou share a bed 90% of the time and shoji has definitely walked out of his room to see one or the other coming out of the wrong room in the mornings 😂 They all have a silent agreement to just not talk about it ever it’s fine.

Z: Now see I don’t know if this means like, fandom or just content or what ;-; So I’m gonna ramble about hero suits because why not.

So like one thing that I love about MHA is that the society is so fleshed out and compound and complex, like our own, and has a lot of similar issues that ours has. And one that’s not really touched on (probably for good reason, as Hori is a man) is the sexism/misogyny that a lot of the women face. But one aspect of it that I find fascinating is how it affects what the women heroes wear.

Obviously I doubt a lot of this was intentional on Hori’s part— he designed a lot of these based on western comic book heroes after all. However, we all know how the male gaze affected the designs of the women heroes that we’ve all grown up with and some of the offhanded comments Hori put in there adds this layer to it all that I just latched right onto 😂 Like, for instance, Ochako.

When we first see her walk out in her costume, she makes a comment on how it’s tighter than she was expecting. And if you look at all the women heroes— most of them? Wear something tight or somehow revealing. Add to that the scene of Midnight and Mount Lady arguing during the sports festival (Mount Lady calls Midnight “old”) and Momo and Kendou’s internship, and how the hero they interned under impressed on them how important appearances are, and how few girls are even in the hero course and how few women are in the top lineups, and well— it seems like there’s an expectation of women to dress a certain way as heroes in order to be “appealing”. They’re expected to wear tighter or more revealing clothes than their masculine counterparts. Which is very very relatable considering the whole debacle that just happened with Norway’s women’s’ volleyball team and their uniforms.

Tdlr; Ochako wanted to be a marshmallow astronaut but was denied that opportunity and that to me is a Tragedy

Thanks, Ama!!!! Again, so sorry for the delay but work has been wearing me out so much (tomorrow’s my first day off since last Wednesday) but we’re here now!! Question from this ask game!

1: What inspired you to write the fic this way?

Hmmmmm.... You know, this fic kind of came about in a blur. Iirc I wrote it in the span of a couple of weeks so it was pretty quick decisions on my part...

I wrote it from Kirishima’s point of view because when I discussed what was going on re:kiribaku during the chaos of Tanabata with @vixensheart she mentioned that Kirishima was probably worried being separated from Bakugou because of the villains, considering him getting kidnapped. And so it just made the most sense to tell it from his perspective.

As far as the timeline of it. I guess I really wanted to show how much the two of them wanted to be alone before running into izuocha and getting stuck together. And that’s pretty much why it exists the way it does I think.

11: What do you like best about this fic?

hmmmm probably getting to properly showcase Kiribaku and their dynamic in terms of DoJ’s universe. I’ve been a little upset I haven’t gotten to a point where I can thus far, despite really enjoying their dynamic and the part they’ll play a little later on. So it was really cool to finally touch on it somewhere, y’know?

12: What do you like least about this fic?

I feel like I maybe could have done the transition between the fireworks scene and the attack a little better... I don’t think I did it badly exactly, but I know at least a few people read it and didn’t really...understand the transition so 😅 But hopefully I’ll get better at it the more I practice!

H: How would you describe your style?

Uhhhhhhhh dialogue and dumb jokes...? I’m not really sure to be honest. I’ve had people tell me I do have one and I’m sure I do. But outside of those two things, I don’t feel like my works are incredibly uhhhhh consistent, I guess?

I try to cover a wide range when I write. I don’t like having just fluff or just angst, really. I like to have things true to life so I hope my works have a little bit of everything, I guess? That’s what I aim for anyways lol

K: What’s the angstiest idea you’ve ever come up with?

Hmmmmm mostly stuff that’s yet to be posted 🤐 One’s based off of a certain favorite fic of mine. A few are planned for DoJ... I guess one angsty idea I talked about with @savetheirhearts-midoriya after the leaks for the newest chapter is the idea of All Might dying trying to protect someone--potentially Ochako. And thus Ochako dealing with feeling the responsibility of that. As well as Deku’s loss of his father figure and how it happened....

Ripe for angst I’d say.

R: Are there any writers (fanfic or otherwise) you consider an influence?

Ohhhhhh gosh. Actual author wise I always loved Harper Lee’s style in To Kill a Mockingbird. I read that a lot actually right around the time I started writing fanfic lol

As for fanfic writers definitely @ohmytheon! I think I only really contemplated writing fanfic again after reading her heroes of the dark fanfic. I wasn’t entirely sure about because it had been so long. And I didn’t really have many ideas but it definitely spurred my “what if I...” thoughts.

And then there were other fanfic authors who’s work pushed me into it after that initial contemplation. Including but not limited to @izupie, @sevenrenny, @airquietworks, and @ignitingwriting for sure!

And then, of course, there’s everyone since then... Fellow creators who just inspire me to try harder and expand myself in writing as much as I can. Including you, Dani, Chels, Kat, and doubtlessly countless others that my dumb brain can’t think of atm!!

And yknow it’s wild to think I’ve talked to or even become friends with these people. Like. What? Me?? What even?? I never would have thought back in the beginning lol!

Z: Major character death–do you ever write/read it? Is there a character whose death you can’t tolerate?

Oh sure! I don’t mind that sort of stuff so long as it’s not just...death for the sake of death, I guess? Cause like, sometimes it’s for a particular thought, sometimes it makes sense within the context of the story... I’ll be heartbroken don’t get me wrong, but so long as it’s not a cheap inclusion, I’m pretty okay with anything in that regard.

For the scene ask: definitely the one I think about a lot and has stuck with me is from One Plus One where Izuku is trying to explain how he and Ochako got together even though they aren't actually together. I just found this so incredibly adorable and romantic. And having Angora there like "yes please tell me more" was the icing on the cake!

Awww I’m so glad!!!! I definitely had a lot of fun with that story in general. And honestly I was really surprised with how vocal everyone was once the last chapter came out... I was expecting everyone to be disappointed, considering the open ending. But everyone said they really liked it and I just remember being shook about it lol

But on the more fun side--I have two facts regarding that scene! First one is that I based it off of a scenario in Friends where Ross and Rachel pretended to be married at Ross’s parents anniversary dinner with family or something. They end up asking Ross how he proposed and he gives this really sweet answer and later admits to Rachel that it was how he planned to propose when they were still together... So I did something similar here.

Second fact...........I didn’t actually plan out what he was going to do until I was actively writing it. I knew I wanted it to have something to do with stars. But the scenario was done completely by the seat of pants outside of that lol

cancer: how do you write emotional scenes? do you ever feel what the characters feel?

Usually I listen to character playlists I’ve made to help me get into certain character mindsets but I also have playlists modeled after certain feelings so I listen to those if I really need help getting into a particular mood. But I also try to really...idk spiral in feelings before any kind of emotional blow out? I’ll spend paragraphs marinating the feelings, gradually referencing them alongside actions. I let them overtake more and more and more until the feelings dominate and it all just bubbles over. If that makes sense?

With that said, typing and rereading those moments, I generally try to make sure they make me feel something. And I’ll try to reword things until I’m able to just that.

47. If someone you know in real life who isn’t involved in fandoms asked to read your work, would you let them? If yes, what would you recommend they read first?

asdfghjklkjhgfdsasdfghjkl depends on the person....? There’s this older dude at my work who I talk to about writing a lot. He’s asked to see my stuff sometimes but I’ve got this irrational fear that he would make fun of me despite being like a super chill dude so I always tell him I don’t think he’d be interested. But if I was gonna recommend something to someone I think I’d probably do either I Roll to Seduce (cause everyone knows D&D now so it’s kinda relatable) or maybe like Eri-sitting...? Both are longer pieces but they’re good at encapsulating the overall feeling I like my fics to have I think...

48. Does anyone you know from outside of fandom know you write fanfic? Are they involved in the same fandom too?

Oh, everyone in my house--which are my two friends and little sister lmao. We’re all big nerds though so it’s not surprising. Some other family members too, my mom knows I do it my little cousin... Outside of that a few of my closer friends at work. One of them wasn’t into bnha but I kept talking about it nd so she watched it. She loves Bakugou and finding that out the way she told me on snapchat was goddamn hilarious. Unfortunately she’s an anime only though so she’s not active in fandom because spoilers abound.

49. Has anyone in your life ever read your fanfic just because you wrote it?

My little cousin lmao. I was reading her an excerpt without telling her it was mine and she cut me off to be like, “This is yours isn’t it? I know your writing. I literally grew up with it. I know when something sounds like you.” Which just blew my mind because it’s been years since then... And I’ve asked my roommates to help me with edits in the past. But they’re not extremely into bnha so I don’t really ask now haha.

50. Has writing fanfic had a significant impact on your life? Would you say it’s entirely positive?

It’s had such a positive impact!! Writing for BnHA has been such a blessing for reals. When I started writing I was going through some tough shit irl, and writing was such a good and healthy outlet. Especially for someone who yknow doesn’t drink or smoke or...anything. It was great for distracting myself and not getting overwhelmed in my negative emotions. And it’s continued to do so since!! I’ve also made some great friends along the way... So I’d like to think it’s moe positive than anything else, at least!

I saw your tags! <3333 Finding another hamster lover in the big wide internet is such a breath of fresh air! Thank you for sharing your experiences and ham-love with me. Now *I'm* crying! Teddy the Bear *was* a great fellow. I've had hams all my life (about 20 hams or so by now), but Teddy was special. He was just so chill, chill enough that I brought him to 2 presentations as an animal ambassador. At both, he was so calm, despite the one where all the children were jumping at the bit to pet him (those were good kids, they reeled themselves in for the privilege to pet that fluff). He never bit anyone, never jumped, always the epitome of cool. I couldn't have asked for a better partner. As I move into more hamster rehabilitation (right now I have a very skittish girl), I know it will get harder to find a ham like him. Even still, I'm going to put my experience with them to work. Thanks for letting me tell you about him. ^___^

Oh how sweet! Thank you for telling me about him, he sounds even more precious than I had imagined (⁠人⁠ ⁠•͈⁠ᴗ⁠•͈⁠) I bet those kids all remember him fondly, and I'm glad they were careful with the little guy. But wow, as an animal ambassador? And hamster rehabilitation? Sounds like you put a lot of time and love into taking care of your fluffy little dumplings.

You know, finding another hamster lover in the wild was lovely for me too. They really are just such delightful creatures. Now, I've only had three in my life, but I just know I'll have hamsters again in the future. They made for such amazing little buddies. I still remember how much easier sleep came to me as I listened to them run around at night... Your little Teddy made me think of my first one, Ari. She wasn't chill like him, incredibly hyper, actually, but she was the kindest and most patient rodent I had ever met. I still remember being in awe when I first held her. But goodness, Teddy the Bear is such a cute name XD

And hams! Oh I had never heard them be called that before! How absolutely delightful djdhsjs
