Maybe it's my empathic nature, or maybe it's the fact that I still remember how hateful DJT and his cabinet members have been towards minorities and working class people, but nothing about the reaction from the White House regarding this weekend's events seems to contain sincere sympathy for the wounded or the families of the deceased, nor does it seem that anyone in that group recognizes the danger and atrocity they allow to grow by not firmly criminalizing hate groups. Free speech does not extend to infringing upon the rights of others to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. These "alt-right" fringe groups claim to be of God's chosen race, but if they knew anything about the god they claim to worship, they would know that they aren't living lives that would please their god. We as a society need to promote the importance of staying informed, as well as the importance of seeing, or at least trying to understand, the world from the point of view as those whose struggles are not our own.
