Can we send in endgame request now?

I’ve been doing a little over-thinking about the answer to this question (because if there’s anything I do well, it’s that!)

Short answer: Yes!

Long answer: Yes! It’s worth reminding folks, in the wake of Endgame and how polarizing opinions can be, that we are not a blog for one particular ship or another - we are a blog for Steve.  We’ll fill asks that reference any number of ships, romantic or platonic; filling an ask does not indicate picking-of-a-side.  Something we deliberately do not do at ISR is use this blog as a soapbox.  We want it to be a place all feel welcome. So please, yes, request away, we will continue to fill all sorts of Steve/Character(s) and Steve & Character(s) as we have in the past.  

Perhaps this brief reminder/PSA wasn’t necessary, but I know Endgame (and GoT) have hit some people hard and I felt it was important to include a reminder about our focus being Steve, not one or another particular ship.

ebony, hi!! 💓 no, i haven’t answered this yet actually!! pretty predictably, i loved steve raising mjolnir to save thor’s life & thor being absolutely certain that steve has been worthy all this time. idk if it was the same in your cinema but it was SO quiet when thanos had thor cornered, like everyone was stressing, myself included, and then everyone went WILD at the hammer shot. i remember seeing this art (and this has been floating around since at least last august) and thinking about how cool it would be to see a scene like this, even if it ended up being steve’s “as long as one man stands against you, thanos” moment – and the scene turned out to be way more than i could’ve expected.

also, i have to throw in a mention for samcap!!!! i’m still dealing with how we got there, but we got samcap and it’s what he deserves!!! scott was a national treasure throughout the whole movie (his reunion with cassie had me teary!!!), LOVED the shot of all the ladies on the battlefield (and also the shot of all those portals opening!!), and i was quite touched by the scene between howard & tony. i thought the plot point with the two nebulas was actually quite clever, and also, the fight scene between the two steves!

I think the biggest reason why many people on here are upset with the ending is because everyone ships stucky but if you look at it from a canon lense it actually makes sense. Cap was always a man out of time and while Bucky was important to him he never let go of Peggy and the chance he lost with her when he went into the ice. In terms of canon it makes perfect sense for him to go back

i can’t speak for other people but this is how i feel. i’m not stupid, i have never once expected stevebucky to be canon, i’ve always known it would never happen and i’m fine just living in fics or whatever. this post by bianca does a really good job of how i feel about the ending irrespective of any ships, but beyond that, i’m really not interested in having discourse over this. it’s not towards you, personally, just for me, i don’t want to get into it, i’m trying to enjoy endgame and the end of something that has been in my life for a decade. thanks for understanding <3

Asks with Endgame spoilers

Ooo! Y’all I have some asks with Endgame spoilers and I wanna TALK!!!

But pursuant to my self-policing here, I’m not posting spoilers until May 9 (they will be tagged for 2wks). So I am waiting to answer them until Thursday!!

But I see you!!! I’m so excited someone still wants to talk to me about this stuff! I love theories and just straight screaming feelings.

Thank you so much you made me feel a thousand times better I know I’m overreacting but I legit cried all the way home from the movie theater and just thought of him living a full life and leaving his new life behind made me think about my life I dunno why? I was like hey he didn’t die but now I’m like is this even better???

tbh, i think we’re all just dealing with endgame at our own pace and in different ways. you don’t have to justify what you’re feeling or how you reacted!

theoretically, i love the concept of him living a full life, i really do because it’s what he deserves. but i personally didn’t like how it happened at the expense of his current one. to each their own, though. is this better? for me, i’d almost, almost rather wish he died in battle (though that would’ve been poor character progression, too), but then that would’ve robbed us of him handing the shield over. idk. it’s... something else. lol.

hey!! i just wanted you to know that i was having a really hard time because i was looking for posts about steves ending in endgame but most of the people were making fun of him and seeing posts talking about him in the way you did kinda made me feel a lot better! so thank you so much... <3!

ah i’m sorry to hear it, but i’m happy i could’ve helped even just a little bit 💓 the russos & markus and mcfeely really just put him in an awful, polarising spot so i’m unsurprised by the spectrum of reactions people have, though of course it sucks to see the negativity. take care of yourself!!

Thank you for your takes. You put into words what I couldn’t about what they did to Steve, Nat and Thor. Immensely unhappy with how they left them

oh omg, you don’t have to thank me at all. it’s a little gratifying to see that people were feeling similarly, but honestly it also makes me sad to see that many people disappointed or dissatisfied. everyone makes a big deal of oh, 10 years! 21 movies leading up to endgame! and yet instead of some great catharsis or exhale, i just have questions and conflicting emotions, oof.

a whole host of characters deserved better than what they got when the og6 were jumping in and out for those stones. lots of food for thought.
