Do you personally agree that the GO trilogy lacks a satisfying conclusion? A lot of people, even those who like Galaxy, seem to agree that Galaxy's ending failed to really give finality to the series, do you believe that stance to be a reasonable one? And even if you don't, do you think there are aspects of Galaxy's ending which could be improved upon?
Ah another plot ask. Now I’m thrilled to answer this.
In terms of the Galaxy ending, I feel like it was satisfying to the heart. It gave a good conclusion to the entire Galaxy series, and it made us all feel warm inside.
But InaGo is SO MUCH more than Galaxy. And that shows that the Galaxy ending really did fail to give closure to the entire series as a whole. I completely agree with your statement. Why? That’s because InaGo is tied in with the earthly sport of soccer. I sort of wish that Galaxy and Chrono Stone weren’t that far-fetched because the end goals became something else unrelated to soccer entirely. For example in Chrono Stone- their goal is to find the “strongest eleven” and “save soccer from being forgotten”. In Galaxy their goal is to “save the galaxy through soccer”. And even in Go, their goal is to “get true soccer back”. All in all, I wish InaGo was more about the competition, and I wish it would’ve had a more sports anime vibe to it instead of a “lets save the world” feel. It’s a good concept for a kids show, but that is the reason why the endings might not give closure to the entire series. The show went from soccer to saving the galaxy. These kids are MIDDLE SCHOOLERS!!!! Not one of them exceeding the age of 15-16! I feel like the Galaxy ending would’ve been satisfying for Go’s targeted audience, and we can’t blame them for our dissatisfaction- because we’re older and we want more reality to the series. I did feel good when Galaxy ended, and if InaGo was simply about saving the Galaxy, then the ending was great. But it sure didn’t give justice for soccer. Even in terms of Galaxy, I wished it was like Ina11′s World Cup-esque season- but they took something as earthly as that, and made it Galaxy related. Aliens were cool, but it was on the brink of being unrealistic(even for InaGo), and the ending relating to it didn’t really pay enough tribute to the entire series as a whole.
