Saved
Sam was once again trapped in the cage, with Lucifer prowling around in front of him like an animal would if they were sizing up their prey. He knew this plan was risky but it was God who sent him here so it should have been fine. But he was so stupid, of course God wasn’t talking to him, why would he? All Sam had done was bring destruction on Earth, so why would God be helping him now?
“What’s going on inside that head of yours Sammy?” Lucifer asked in a playful tone. “Are we getting of this cage together, or do you want to spend some quality time down here with me?” he asked walking closer to Sam.
“If I allow you, can you promise you’ll beat the Darkness?” Sam asked trying to sound braver than he was currently feeling. He didn’t want spend anymore time trapped down here with Lucifer and he wasn’t so sure Crowley would want to try breaking him out. This was looking like his best option, getting Lucifer to beat the Darkness? And if he could beat Lucifer once he could do it again right?
“Well if that means my ticket out of here and getting to spend more time with you than I don’t see why I can’t give it a shot” Lucifer answered, a smile spreading across his face.
Every fibre of his being told him not to accept the offer, that it’d be a reckless option to beat the Darkness. However, Sam wasn't sure he would last long against Lucifer. Would it be better to just accept him and spare himself the pain?
Sam got ready to voice his answer when a bright light erupted from above, it was warm and oddly familiar. Lucifer visibly recoiled from the light as it kept coming closer.
“Grab my hand” a voice called out from the light.
Sam was shocked, he thought he would never hear that voice again, and without hesitation he grabbed the hand. Soon he was sobbing against his rescuers body. “Gab I thought I’d never see you again” he said in between sobs.
“You can’t get rid of me that easily Sammy” Gabriel replied planting a kiss atop Sam’s head. “Now let’s get you out of here” he said flying towards the surface.
