I just added new fish to my filterless Endler’s Livebearer tank, and I’m excited to share the process with you! 🐟💧 This setup has been running without a filter, relying entirely on plants, microorganisms, and natural balance to keep things clean and healthy. It’s low-maintenance, eco-friendly, and a great option for small tank enthusiasts.
I visited Horizon Aquatics, which has an amazing nano tank room—perfect for anyone who loves small tanks and unique fish. I went in looking for more Endlers and immediately fell in love with the Japan Blue Endlers 😍 These vibrant little livebearers are full of personality and color. There were only three left, so I scooped them all up!
While I was there, I also figured out what I’m going to stock in my next 45-litre planted tank build. No spoilers yet—but okay, I gave away two little hints in this video. That full tank project is coming next month, so make sure you’re following if you want to see the full setup and stocking process!
I also grabbed some video clips from Horizon’s aquascaping gallery—some seriously stunning tanks in there. I’ll be posting a few shorts soon breaking down the scapes, plants, and layout ideas you can steal for your own tanks.
When I got home, the lights were off, but I carefully floated the bag to temperature-acclimate the new fish. I used a spotlight to watch how the four original Endlers—who were actually born in this tank—would react. They seemed curious, not aggressive, which is a good sign. 👀
I slowly added tank water to the bag using a pipette to help them adjust. Then I netted them out and introduced them to the tank. So far, there’s no aggression—just a lot of exploring and gentle interaction.
I’ll keep watching closely, but things are looking great so far. If you’re into natural tanks, filterless setups, or just want to follow along with my fish room projects, hit that follow and check back soon! 🐠🌱✨
