Endless engines Challenge by pwnisher.
Special units vehicle D4eC.
[ID: A sequence of 3D renders following a couple of characters from basic block-out through the larger of the two having been sculpted. The one sculpted is a chunky scorpion-like creature. The other character, still just approximated with deformed spheres and cylinders, is riding the scorpion's back in a chair. End ID]
As of a week ago, when I got permission from @nicholaskole to borrow these adorable characters (admire the original art here), I've joined yet another animation challenge! Because these buddies look like they'll be entertaining to watch move at semi-high speed and the Endless Engines challenge was announced at a time I was susceptible to its allure.*
And as of this afternoon, I finished the first full step: sculpting the scorpion. Next up is retopo and rigging (again, just of the scorpion to start), so that I can get the base animation done and have less unknown about my timetable to a minimum viable product to submit for the challenge.
Nobody asked, but since I am somewhat delaying the completion of the dino project by hopping into this I felt like explaining myself past the read more.
