Author’s note: I haven’t posted any fics for a while so I decided to do a few drabbles just to get back on it. Also, this idea came to me for a while eversince ES book 2 is still going, so I believe now is a good time to do so. Anyway, this takes place in the middle of Book 2, where the gang was celebrating New Years. And I’m not sure if I should lable it NSFW-ish because...well...there are a couple of mature contents. But read at your own risks just to be safe, guys. Hope you enjoy! I’ll post another one soon.💞💞💗
Summary: That vision from one of those Amber Idols still haunts and the last thing she ever wanted was to lose him...
Eleven mounds...eleven graves...it didn’t even take a second for her to figure out who’s among the graves and that immediately caused her to drop the shovel and backed away in fear before darkness swallowed her.
Yurika gasped and sat up straight, rather abruptly, realizing that she was actually in a luxury bedroom rather than the dragon cave. She tried to cover herself with the sheets and pinched the bridge of her nose. It was that stupid nightmare again. The one that made Yurika wished that she had never picked up that Andromeda Idol in the first place. But she knew it was important since those idols foretell her friends’ fate. And it never failed to haunt her in her dreams ever since she picked up the first one back at the secret passage of the Celestial Hotel.
Just then, Yurika heard a soft grunt that made her look down and smiled at the figure beside her on the bed. The sight of seeing Jake sleeping peacefully, and had his arms wrapped around her waist, caused the blonde’s heart to melt and let her worries fade away for a moment. She chuckled and tucked a few strand of his hair from his forehead before using the back of her hand to stroke his cheek. It was clear he was exhausted. They both are. Not that Rika was surprise. Especially with the fact that they barely escaped from those Arachnid Soldiers who are after him. But they were able to get a chance to relax at the Elysian Lodge with the New Year Party...and that wild night the two of them had not to long ago. That last part caused the young woman to blushed as she remember it vividly, but she didn’t regret one bit.
The one thing she really regret, however, was the fact that Yurika kept those visions to herself. She never told any about them. Not even to her best friend, Diego. And it was probably for the best for now, because she didn’t want to freak the hell out of anyone right now. It’s already bad enough that they have to be on the run and find their way out of this island.
The only thing is that...Yurika doesn’t know how much longer she could withhold that secret, especially with their lives on the line. And she knew Jake also had that idol hidden somewhere in this island. And it would only be the matter of time before he’ll be gone as well.
She knew she didn’t want to lose him, but Yurika couldn’t help but dread the fact that danger still awaits them. Just how much more time they’ll have together before they have to face their fates?
Especially when she realized that she loves him.
“Princess? You alright?”
Yurika managed to break out of her thought the moment she heard his voice and saw Jake sitting up, still sleep-deprived, yet still showing concerns for her. The young woman tried to calm down before managing to speak.
“I’m...fine,” she whispered, “Just a bad dream.”
Jake didn’t waste a second to hold her in his arms again and gently brought her down with him on the bed, which she obliged. As he was stroking her hair, Yurika started to relaxed in his embrace and nuzzled against his chest.
“You want to talk about it?” the pilot whispered to her.
Rika thought for a moment, trying to find her voice again. “No. Not yet, at least.”
Luckily for her, he didn’t push it. Instead, the pilot pressed a kiss on her forehead. “That’s fine. I’m still here to talk to if you ever change your mind. Do you need anything, at least?”
Yurika shook her head and leaned closer to Jake. “Not at the moment. For now, you’re all I need.”
The pilot chuckled at her response before gently kissing Yurika, in which the latter returned immediately, trying to prolong this moment as much as she can.
God, whatever is going to happened to us, please don’t take him away from me.
