The Winners of the #NobelPeacePrize for 2018 are Dr Denis Mukwege and Nadia Murad. They are helping better the lives of victims of sexual violence and human trafficking. _ Dr Mukwege is a gynecologist helping victims of sexual violence in the Democratic Republic of Congo, where he founded the Panzi Hospital, a @untrustfundevaw grantee. According to him, he tries to heal his patients not only physically, but also psychologically “in order to restore their dignity and their capacity to defend their own rights and fight stigma, the humiliation and discrimination they face in their community.” _ Nadia Murad was kidnapped in 2014 at age 19 in Iraq, held hostage and constantly subjected to sexual violence. Since then, she has been a brave and powerful voice for survivors of human trafficking and victims of sexual violence. After escaping 3 months of captivity, she started seeking justice for victims everywhere, telling her story to the world time and again, even though that meant reliving horrific memories of abuse and suffering. _ #NobelPrize #EndRapeInWar #NadiaMurad #MeToo #UNTF #NobelPrice #EndRapeInWar #MeToo #FemmeForte #Peace #DRC #panzihospital @panziusa @mukwegefoundation Source: @unwomen #feminism #colouredafrica https://www.instagram.com/p/BojwVC3n2AE/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=owswu6xsnrve
