Well, I pace myself A LOT. I push my 3 year old in a stroller the whole time, which is about 50 pounds all together. So it gets tiring but, helps me because I like the grip. (Without Maxim I honestly feel weird and have no idea what to do with my arms and hands.)I take it in strides, especially since I do it in a very active neighborhood. I can't run the whole time. I will run minutes, walk a minute, jog 2 minutes, yadda yadda. Also, when you see those little grey markers, thats me making a stop for Maxim to play on the playground so he doesn't get bored, so it give me a chance to breathe and stretch. Also something people always don't think about, yours shoes. Your running shoes have SO much to do with it. They make so many different kinds and styles for a reason. Most people just buy whats prettiest. And I'm guilty of that in the past. Go to a store specifically for running and training, I go to Fleet Feet. They measure every aspect of your foot, they hook you up to a treadmill and video record your stride and the way you move and sit down with you and break it down. They then bring out a variety of shoes for you to try and run in again to see which feels best. Once I did this, and got shoes meant for the way my body runs, I was able to double all my old distance records. ALSO socks. Socks, socks, socks. To me make or break a run. Which is broke it today haha. Its good to stock up on good socks, and they can help you out at a store like that as well. SOOOO LONG OF A RANT. Sorry haha.Just pace yourself, make goals, track your times and routes cause it'll keep you more motivated, and just work your way up. There is no shame in walking either. Don't burn yourself out. :)
