Ironborn Introvert Duo
One of the funniest things about Westerosi politics in my crossover au (which I'm calling the Children of the Wellspring Verse), is that Euron Greyjoy and Rodrick Harlaw should, by all accounts, be best friends. As kids, they would both awkwardly introvert in the corners of social events, and as adults they both have a healthy skepticism for their fellow Ironborn. They have very similar interests and personalities, the same allies, and the same enemies. They're both at court around the same time, and they both have positions of power there, with Euron being an important lord and Rodrik being master of ships. They both speak multiple languages and use that ability to snark relentlessly about the people around them. And they both like learning things. They're literally family. Rodrik is the only person who's ever guessed that the two birds on Euron's sigil represent his two dead kids. But you can not leave them alone in a room without the room catching fire. These two despise each other so much that it causes problems for everyone else. There is only one person Euron would want to spend time with less, and that's Victarion, who killed his first love. Rodrik keeps publicly insulting Euron. The whole thing is a giant political headache for everyone involved. If they got along, they would be an iconic duo. But they just don't.
it'd be nice to find some interest in Muses being... enemies. like, just, outright. The two of them = not good combo.
i love this comradery and stuff butt i feel like people shy away from dynamics that have an element of actual danger (and some actual unpredictability) and high stakes for the characters (all decided by both mods, obviously) . and this goes for all my blogs. and you don't have to because everything is decided in advanced, nothing happens to your muse that you do not approve. but i do get how if it's not the kind of story you're jive with, it would be something you'd not touch. but there is a variety of stuff. it's not all "I HATE YOU" so overtly. again, about all my muses, there can be muses on neutral or even good terms but it's precarious. or a bond is spurious. or bond is doomed to flip unpredictably. endless ways an enemy-ship exists. or just old-fashioned at each other's throats, crave each other's suffering ,
The unpredictability of enemy plots is what makes it so fun. .
The stronger the hatred, the less boundaries they'll care about breaking when it comes to anything involving the other. And this goes for the plot they are in.
