someone left him on the steps of a church in the middle of a night. no note. no indication whatsoever on the child's history or who to contact. it happened on rare occasion and father matthias didn't even blink twice. his heart, however, was heavy.
they named him cael, provided for him, and schooled him. though he was just a young baby no one who came to see him ever wanted to take cael home. it was as if the child was destined to stay within the church's walls.
at five, cael started talking to nothing and no one at all. imaginary friend, someone would whisper. but he would later learn it wasn't an active imagination but, in fact, the dead. moreover, he learned that the dead was nothing like everyone whispered about. there was an elderly old woman who always came to sit in the same pew during sunday service. she'd wave at him and look as though the choir music was nothing short of bliss. there was also a child cael sometimes saw at a nearby bus stop and he noticed when one particular man was waiting for the bus to arrive, the child lit up like the sun.
that's my daddy, the child whispered once. i'm trying to make sure he's not sad anymore.
at thirteen, cael saw his first vision; a candle falling over just after dinner and starting a small fire in the kitchen. he didn't think anything of it at the time. not until later that evening, just after seven o'clock, when a scream ripped through the dining hall.
at eighteen, after graduating, cael moved out into his own apartment near downtown las vegas. one of the nuns helped him get a job at one of the restaurants on the strip. by the time he was twenty two he'd saved up enough for bartending school.
on the night of his twenty fifth birthday, he ran into the man only known as dumah. cael heard a number of stories from people who used to work at one of the clubs owned by the mysterious man. great pay, great benefits, and someone who would not let their employees get taken advantage of. yet, also strict in what was defined as excellence.
a job was offered right out of the blue. as they say in the movies, it was an offer cael couldn't refuse.
hello && welcome! i’m lark and thank you for visiting.
just some quick notes: my blogs tend to be very slow activity. plotting is always the best way to get something rolling quickly. it helps give me parameters to work with. for me, that helps my muse as it gets a lot of questions out of the way. or, if you prefer, mutuals can always go through my meme tag and send anything in.
dis.cord is available for mutuals who would like to get ahold of me that way. it can be the easiest option since i blog hop. please keep in mind that i can be slow to respond due to work, family, and social obligations.
if i’m not here you can also find me on one of the below!

about Unhappy Campers
// Anon, I would be happy to answer your question more at length on DM.
However, I don't answer OOC questions over Anon anymore. I find it opens up the inbox to Anon Hate, I apologize.
But I respect the question and thank you for the interest in the topic!
To answer your question briefly though, Yes. Yes I did enjoy that episode and how he acted. Very much so. Even predicted that side of him. He's a very layered character and I think that fans wanting him to only have good traits is extremely limiting.
Their not liking his 'cringe' traits or that he's capable of getting jealous or losing sight of things like everyone else is, in my opinion, extremely limiting. And unfair, too. He's usually the balancing one. And he was also in-character. As someone who also compartmentalizes and sometimes gets 'into character' to cope with stressful situations because I'm neuro-divergent and autistic, I really related to the episode. And I found people's reaction to the episode extremely uh... unintentionally abelist.
Moxxie acted more outwardly autistic as Moxxine. Someone trying to fit in who couldn't. Someone weird and awkward. When what worked for others didn't work for Moxxine, it was painful.
So he switched gears and then for the REST OF THE EPISODE, focused on the mission. People FORGET THAT PART. For most of the week, he was focusing on catching that guy. And Millard was busy with the kids admiring him. So yeah, Moxxie got frustrated.
I do love that, because it shows they aren't perfect.
I think that's great. It shows that they can work through their differences. And when Moxxie was able to ADMIT HE MESSED up that's way braver than what most guys do when they just act like they did nothing wrong and gaslight a chick.
I love Moxxine and I love Unhappy Campers. I thought it was funny.
Also fuck Barbie Wire. She's a groomer. Don't care if 17 is the legal age in that state blah blah blah. That was gross.
The fact that the Fanwiki just erasures Unhappy Campers but gives Verosika a bullshit paragraph about how she "wants to see Blitz" improve is just bogus to me and shows that the fandom can't read between the lines with anything.
Also there's a thing called toxic procrastination. Which I think is what Moxxie was doing in this episode. I think that's when someone makes reaching their own goal harder for themselves. By making this mission more complicated with the disguises and the elaborate plan, it meant he wouldn't succeed. Because success scares him more than failure. C-PTSD is a BITCH. It is actually VERY realistic. And it's extremely realistic that someone who was abused the way Moxxie was would have abandonment issues the way he displayed when he was acting out as Moxxine. So once again. Yes. Yes and yes. I loved Unhappy Campers.
seeing that (ง'̀-'́)ง meme going around
and bc im about to take a nap and not everyone is rb'ing it but a lot of ppl are and i can't scroll to see who has
reminder that if your Muse is Moxxie's friend, it doesn't matter that he is smol
he will still try to punch (or more likely kick) anyone who hurts your Muse to defend them to back off
Someone tagged my Moxxie in this in my server lol
They did it for his au form Fausto bc that's where it's most overt.
But I'd argue this is even more relevant for OG and let me tell you why:
It's one thing to speak up against power when you have secret magical backing like Fausto. It's another thing entirely when you're scared and you don't have that secret power to back you up. OG version has to rely on just courage and is only an ordinary imp but still stands up to people regardless. an obvious creep pervo
Not all defiance is loud and punk rock.
